I really enjoyed 'Terminator' and 'Dollhouse' last night, and think Fox might have just found the formula to bring the demo back to Friday nights. I especially liked the co-hosted intros from the dazzling duo of Miss Summer Glau and Miss Eliza Dushku, which only heightened the sense of special occasion.
The hockey mask serial killer made $20 million or $19 million to be exact last night, which was a new record for a specific genre horror film on one single night let alone opening night easily passing Saw's $14 million.
Friday the 13th no doubt is the first big movie of 2009 and I'm glad I watched it yesterday morning.

Great pics dumont and BlueLick on the previous pages. Please post those everyday! LOL!
Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku have turned into franchise characters and could represent FOX's Friday Nights for at least the next 3-5 years. T:SCC might've officially figured out its scripted Friday Night tandem.
I got a chance to stay at home last night after seeing Jason in the morning and I loved T:SCC and Dollhouse although I think Dollhouse was slow yesterday and looks on the preview like its going to pick it up next week. I hope the ratings are decent at least. Maybe close to what T:SCC & Prison Break were getting on Monday Nights week in and week out.

The first big movie of 2009 is Paul Blart. It'll cross 100 millions this weekend. Fruday won't even get 100 million by the end of its run

I don't expect the ratings to be very good, but Dollhouse was a much better show than expected. Ironically, if anything hurts the ratings, it will be the FOX promos for the show. Those promo bits with the two actresses talking about their characters were just hard to watch; just like the bits that presenters do at award shows.
I just like to raise a glass in toast of the granddaddies of the industry:
60 Minutes: 40 years! The Simpsons: 20 Years! Law & Order: 19 Years! ER: 15 years! The Real World: Season #21 Survivor: Season #18 P.I. Feedback Challenge: Game #100!
Don't forget:
20/20: 31 years! America's Funniest Home Videos: 20 years!

By you, maybe--but please remember, the core Whedon fanbase is expecting immortal greatness, 21st century Shakespeare--and are already insisting their expectations were wildly surpassed.

Yeah, I don't think those ever work, but they've decided their only hook for these shows is "Hot chicks that kick ass while wearing tight clothes." Btw, did you know Joss Whedon is a feminist?

The idea for the promos might have been good, but Glau looked like she was dragged into doing it. Maybe they can get the cast of LIE TO ME to gauge her level of 'sincerity.'

Glau is very wooden and out of it. That 'act' works fine for a 'Terminator' or a 'mental patient', but when she acts the same way in promos it is very off-putting.

I watched it too! And it was SO fun! I saw it on IMAX and the whole theater was energised! I really liked Jared and Amanda! The fight between Clay and Jason was awesome. Everybody looked hot!
Side note: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sunday's Daily game features The Simpsons. I think people will be tuning in to see the first episode in HD (complete with a new introduction for this everlasting animated show).
I havent seen The Simpsons in quite some time. I will be tuning in for the all new introduction and the first HD episode. Thanks for the heads up Obveeus!
