Cane is probably gone before November Sweeps I think-but all the decisions are gonna be tempered because of the looming writer's strike...
Reaper will get a full season order almost surely As for Cane i will be surprised if CBS pulls it with these numbers. I think they'll wait at least a couple of weeks before making a decision

Cane's demos are really old. Youth hungry CBS won't like that. Just ask Judging Amy, the District, or the Gaurdian fans. quote: Originally posted by Seat42f: Guess I am in the minority but I'd expect to see Cane get a pickup based on these numbers. DVR will give it at least a 10% boost and knock it over the 10M mark. Still think that in 2007 10M plus for a Drama and 8M plus for a comedy are the marks.. assuming the demo #s aren't atrocious.

and dont we think that at least one week ABC should do this... 8:00 DWTS 9:00 Cavemen 9:30 Carpoolers 10:00 Boston Legal FOX has reaped the rewards of AI helping new shows so why wouldn't ABC try this with their comedies?

Is it really necessary to keep pointing out how much House builds on its lead-in over Bones? Unless House is on after Idol it will have huge gains over anything on Fox! And most other network shows for that matter.

Carpoolers is definetely better then Cavemen, which is a total snoozefest. Boston Legal seems to have picked up a bit. Shame it was for an obviously political and agenda forwarding episode. Oh well, least it had the hilarious nun translation scene(Which is the only thing that redeems this disappointing episode)
Lost and Pushing Daisies are awesome!

CBS has even older skewing shows on air. And anyway they should understand it's really difficult to become a younger oriented network. Not to mention it's nothing wrong with older people watching your programs. But i guess CBS isn't happy with that

At least Cane held week-to-week. But I agree on Cavemen and Carpoolers. quote: Originally posted by WelcomeToK-Ville: Cane, Carpoolers, and Cavemen are done for. All three are lacking in the ratings. Biggest Loser is getting horrible ratings also. Same with the Singing Bee. Beauty in the Geek actually went up in the ratings abou 200K. So that's at least something positive.

well.... if the AVG age of tv viewers on CBS,NBC and ABC was 50 last year.... and the huge amount of tech savy people in their late 40s about to slide out of the current demo we can't be too far off from a demo adjustment... if the avg tv age of a tv viewer isn't in the demo isnt 18-49 outdated?

I doubt Cavemen will make it to November sweeps. quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: quote: As predicted, week two of idiotic ABC sitcom Cavemen came tumbling down, finishing third at 8 p.m. with just 7.00 million viewers and a 2.5 rating/8 share among adults 18-49. Comparably, that was down by a significant 2.19 million viewers and 29 percent in the demo from it’s week-ago debut (Viewers: 9.19 million; A18-49: 3.5/10 on Oct. 2, 2007). When a show loses this much steam in the second week you know the viewers did not like what they saw. Can you blame them?
Not very good numbers, but not as bad as the over nights mad it sound. Its only about a 20% drop, not the 30%+ the over nights were saying. Again not good, but good enough to buy it some more time.

But those older skewing shows air on nights that are older skewing in general (think Friday). Tuesday isn't necessarily youthful for them, but given the massive hype for Cane, this is disappointing. quote: Originally posted by robert: quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: Cane's demos are really old. quote: The CW's Reaper was classic last night. The storyline was much better than week two. Here's to it going back to growing out of lead in B&tG, which deserves kudos for growing week to week by a solid margin. I think as people tire of the NBC block and ABC's wretched comedies it may grow into the mid-3 million viewer level. That would probably warrant a new season.
I tried watching a bit last night--I'm not sure 'classic' is the word I'd use. It's not offensively bad, but it's also not particularly good. You know one problem? CW already has a show about young people hunting demonic beings--it's called Supernatural. Yeah, I know, this is a different approach. And thus far, an approach people don't seem to like as much. I can't say as I much care when or if CW cancels it. I remain more interested in how long it will take for CW to get canceled.

Boston Legal fans should be pleased with that number, isn't that a season high?
