I also recall them doing the rip-off thing with The Chamber (vs. ABC's The Chair w/ John McEnroe). Although both of those bombed miserably.

If I recall correctly, FOX also had a rip-off of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" called "Chance of a Lifetime", which started off with contestants shredding thier very large credit card bills.

Fox also had "Greed" that was similar to "The Weakest Link", but with Chuck Woolery instead of Dominatrix Anne.

Greed debuted way before the Weakest Link. The Weakest Link was brought over from the U.K.

Doesn't seem to be as dominate as it once was.

Game #34, aka Game #8 of the 2007 summer TV season, has just premiered online. Most of the season numbers are exactly the ones from Game #33 - that's what happens when I don't get the official weekly ratings. However, that didn't stop me from churning out another game!

This also means that this lack of recent ratings info has resulted in yet another backlog of previous game updates and its standings.

You can participate in Game #34 by clicking the P.I. Feedback Challenge icon below. Also, the Lemon Awards (the other icon below) will announce its nominees in 17 "prestigious" categories on Thursday, July 19, which is the same day that "other TV awards show" announces its nominees. You're all gonna love the Lemon Awards, I know it!

Given FOX's track record for ripping off shows and rushing them to air (Trading Spouses vs. Wife Swap, Nanny 911 vs. Supernanny, The Next Great Champ vs. The Contender) and that fact that they tried to do it with DFTL before NBC publicly stepped in and rushed theirs to air, I would say FOX ripped off NBC.

There is not an original idea in hollywood, and this is not different.

All the networks are guilty of this and have been for decades.

FOX has been much more blatant about this practice than any other network when it comes to Reality / Game Shows. I can't really think of any example of this being done between 2 other networks (that didn't involve FOX.)

Well, everybody cloned Millionaire to an extent, but you're right in the fact that Fox has always jumped on the bandwagon.

Right, but FOX has been blatant in rushing them to air after hearing about the projects from other networks.

I think that it would be wrong to assume that FOX is just sitting around twiddling their thumbs and waiting for a press release from another network to tell them what to program. It is far more likely that show ideas exist at all the networks on a myriad of subjects. When one network announces their plans to move forward on a particular subject, the other networks have to decide if they are going to get their own similar themed show in motion or shelve it for the foreseeable future.
