Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 13 percent at this same point last year to approximately 23 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

-Saturday’s Winners: Nothing
-Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats): The night overall

-Ratings Breakdown: Based on these lackluster results, you would never know if was the first Saturday of the 2008-09 season. On that note, CBS was the most-watched network (with just over 6 million viewers), whole football-fueled ABC was No. 1 among adults 18-49 (with under a 2-rating in the demo). CBS opened the evening with a repeat of CSI: Miami (Viewers: #3: 4.56 million; A18-49: #3, 0.9 rating/3 share), followed by a repeat of Criminal Minds (Viewers: #1, 6.27 million; A18-49: #3, 1.3/ 4) and the season-premiere of 48 Hours Mystery at 7.27 million viewers (#1) and a 1.8/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#2) at 10 p.m. 48 Hours Mystery finished first for the evening in total viewers.
Over at ABC, Saturday Night Football averaged 5.52 million viewers (#2) and a first-place 1.9/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. Sad, isn’t it, when the top-rated show among adults 18-49 is under a two?
Elsewhere, Fox’s perennial combination of Cops (Viewers: #1, avg. 4.77 million; A18-49: #1, avg. 1.7/ 6) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: #3, 4.93 million; A18-49: #2, 1.7/ 5) was were below average. Lowly NBC, meanwhile, capped off the evening with repeats of the expanded Heroes season opener (Viewers: #4, 2.35 million; A18-49: 0.7/ 3 from 8-10 p.m.) and Law & Order: SVU (Viewers: #3, 4.76 million; A18-49: #3, 1.2/ 4). Are viewers tiring of Heroes?

No they are not... First of all, for the premiere, almost every hit series [Grey's,Survivor,Betty]..lost about 2 mil. viewers..so did Heroes..PPL are just watching on DVR.. as for the repeat..it's saturday..
GIven the sharp year-to-year losses from Monday's season premeire, I think they are.

Well maybe.. we'll see in the coming weeks.. but still.. there was a 9 month hiatus..plus that season two Nothing shocking I believe better days are coming..
Heroes' decline was based on the fact that the fact that season 2 was a disappointment and they had a long hiatus. Viewers simply moved on, away from Heroes. I don't expect it to get nearly the numbers it once received.
However, NBC doesn't repeat well, especially on Saturdays. So the low Heroes repeat numbers on Saturday really don't indicate the fact that Heroes is in a decline. Instead it indicates that no one cares to watch NBC repeats on Saturdays and they are just wasting blocks of time.
Even FOX Saturdays are on the decline. These numbers are well below what Cops/AWM usually gets. FOX is not in good shape.
Even with Ex-List, CBS should get that. Numbers and GW would need a complete meltdown for it not to happen. And it's really sad when a night can be won by a 1.9 demo.

I think the Ex List will hold the lead in from GW in the demo giving CBS over a 2 average but even if it doesn't, they will still win. ABC should finish second on the evening in the demo and likely viewers. Fox won't be far behind in third (although I'd say they'll be back to 4th or 5th if they move 5th Grader/Lyrics back to Thursdays). NBC should be competing with MyNet for fourth in the demo.

Oooo, lets hope ratings are decent so another season is ordered.
48 Hours is a trooper. I think the demo would improve if CBS went to gameshows like The Price is Right, Power of 10, and Million Dollar Password on Saturdays. They could also consider trying Jingles here too.

BTW, for all you hopefully Swingtown fans, Bravo has picked up the rights to re-air season 1:

I think Price is Right on Saturdays would be a good idea. It already attracts the older audience, and that is who is home on Saturdays. However, I would not do a million dollar edition, just a regular version. Power of 10 was pretty weak, so I wouldnt use that. Million Dolllar Password would be another good option, and Jingles might work as well.

Whatever happened with Jingles? Wasn't that supposed to come in the summer?
Price is Righ would work. It got 10 million on Fridays last season, so it could probably do at least 7 million on Saturdays, if not more. A Million Dollar Spectacular would be more exciting, but a regular primetime edition would do just as well.
Power of 10 would probably work. It could be hours of Drew Carey on Saturday nights, leading into 48 Hours. CBS should consider it.
