Presidential debates are not going to help ABC in relaunching their Wed. shows but since everything will be preempted, I don't see it being that big of a deal. Now we understand why there's late launches to Eli Stone and why CBS chose to wait til October to launch its shows.

The decision of pickup ´Atlas´ will be made this week. It´s gonna be a very expensive series.

There was no need for NBC to pick up Scrubs. And why Jim is coming back is beyond me.

Jim is coming back strictly for more episodes for syndication. There is big money in syndication for sitcoms because they are so scarce these days, and ABC owns the show.

Debates just make it all the more baffling as to why ABC did not launch Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money with the Dancing lead-in last week.

You would think that since Jim is needed to continue for syndication money that ABC would develop more traditional multi-camera comedies. ABC should test out Jim on Fridays this midseason and perhaps if they have a family comedy, pair it with it. If Everybody Hates Chris can double his audience in a move to Friday, I think ABC will be able to find an audience for family comedies.

Another reason Jim and Scrubs are on the net is so American Idol can have something to run over come January.

Agreed about this although Scrubs has held up well against Idol before because it has a different sort of audience. Kind of like NCIS, but much younger skewing and ultimately lower rated. I see ABC not giving Pushing Daisies a back 9 order at this rate and come January, they should consider something like this:

Mondays:
Wife Swap
The Bachelor
Cupid

Dancing and SW return in March.

Tuesdays:
Supernanny
The Goode Family
Scrubs
Eli Stone or Primetime (depends on how ES does this fall)

Wednesdays:
Lost
new procedural
new procedural
It could also be new drama, new drama, Lost depending on how the other nets look at 8 and 10pm.

Thursdays:
Ugly Betty (Private Practice at midseason to eliminate repeats if Life on Mars clicks)
Greys Anatomy (a few eps of Private Practice to eliminate repeats)
Private Practice (relocated if Life on Mars fails- hopefully not)

Fridays:
According to Jim
new comedy
Pushing Daisies burnoff/extra 20/20 or Primetime
20/20

Saturdays:
movies

Sundays:
same but use some reality shows like Newlyweds to eliminate repeats. ABC should also consider airing a 6 or 8 episodes of Dirty Sexy Money here to give it a chance should ratings hold up at all on Wednesdays.

I agree ABC should try Private Practice out of Grey's Anatomy if Life on Mars fails. It could be an opportunity to nurture PP into a hit and then I think it would hold up better anchoring another night.

Most likely this is were it will land, however, I wouldn't be surprised to find Cupid land there. I think Private Practice would do ok on Monday's at 10 once BL finishes it's run.
