ABC's audience skews female so if they just could throw in some reruns of select Lifetime series and movies, they'd be just fine.

Easy enough -- just add it to Saturdays, as below:

OK, so with the latest information, here's my analysis on what ABC should do for a midseason schedule, until Dancing with the Stars returns in late March and/or the strike is over and new episodes of hit scripted series are able to run on the air again:

Mondays:
8:00 Dance War (expand to 90 minutes)
9:30 Samantha Who? (back away from 2.5 Men)
10:00 SuperNanny (in a timeslot it's always done well)

Tuesdays:
8:00 Men In Trees (originals)
9:00 Oprah's Big Give
10:00 Boston Legal (originals)

Wednesdays:
8:00 Pushing Daisies (reruns)
9:00 Private Practice (reruns)
10:00 Primetime Live

Thursdays
8:00 Grey's Anatomy (reruns)
9:00 LOST
10:00 Eli Stone

Fridays:
8:00 Ugly Betty (reruns)
9:00 October Road (originals)
10:00 20/20

Saturdays:
Movies/Sports/"Lifetime Movies" Big Grin

Sundays (jan-Feb):
7:00 AFV (repeats well)
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (new episodes, plus repeats extremely well)
9:00 Cashmere Mafia
10pm Desperate Housewives (reruns)

Good call on Dance War.

Without tipping my hand too much on info, Oprah will not be until March. Also, no Sam till March. LOST will be on Wed...Cashmere Thurs

I don't really like this schedule but here is what I see ABC coming out with:

Mondays:
8:00 Dance Wars/DWTS (both 90 mins)
9:30 NFTU/ Samantha Who
10:00 October Road/ Bachelor

Tuesdays:
8:00 According to Jim/ comedy repeats
8:30 Miss/Guided/ comedy repeats
9:00 Dancing Results
10:00 Boston Legal/ Eli Stone

Wednesdays:
8:00 Pushing Daisies/ Oprah's Big Give
9:00 Lost
10:00 Cashmere Mafia

Thursdays:
8:00 Ugly Betty (repeats)
9:00 Grey's Anatomy (repeats)
10:00 Private Practice (repeats)

Fridays:
8:00 Men in Trees/Wife Swap
9:00 Women's Murder Club/ Supernanny
10:00 20/20

Saturdays:
Movies/Sports/Specials

Sundays:
7:00 AFV
8:00 EMHE
9:00 Desperate Housewives (repeats)
10:00 Brothers and Sisters (repeats)

Again not my choice in scheduling, I just think ABC will go with something like this for Jan and then March for the second part. With the occasional primetime special or MOTW thrown in.

Lost against American Idol on Wednesdays or Tuesdays is not a good idea.

That's why I prefer to see Lost on Thursdays 9pm.

Mondays:
8:00 Dance Wars/DWTS (both 90 mins)
9:30 Miss Guided / Samantha Who
10:00 Men in Trees / Supernanny

[keep things as similar to the fall as possibly, but giving men in trees a strong push since it's got new episodes and csi miami will be in repeats]

Tuesdays:
8:00 Cavemen / According to Jim
8:30 Carpoolers / Notes from the Underbelly
9:00 Dancing Results
10:00 Boston Legal / Eli Stone

[ditto. sure the first hour of so-called comedies is weak, but ABC will still be ahead of the CW and the Spanish speaking networks. plus there is bound to be charlie brown's valentines and saint patrick's day specials we can air.]

Wednesdays:
8:00 Lost
9:00 Oprah's Big Give
10:00 Cashmere Mafia

[yeah, it's almost a complete reformat, but that's what happens when you build a night of all new show in the fall and have a writers strike.]

Thursdays:
8:00 Ugly Betty (repeats)
9:00 Grey's Anatomy (repeats)
10:00 Private Practice (repeats) / Pushing Daisies (repeats)

[Let's not risk cashmere or eli suffering the post-grey's curse and just try repeats of already successful shows.]

Fridays:
8:00 October Road / ABC Family Series Encores / Wife Swap
9:00 Women's Murder Club (repeats) / Bachelor
10:00 20/20

[maybe we can get younger audiences on friday and the bachelor will have less competition]

Saturdays:
Movies/Sports/Specials

Sundays:
7:00 AFV
8:00 EMHE
9:00 Desperate Housewives (repeats)
10:00 Brothers and Sisters (repeats)

[Insert a few clip shows, movies, and award shows and we'll be okay.]

I know American Idol is a huge show, but networks should at least try to compete with it. Ok, my schedule's Tuesday isn't really a testament to that, but I think Lost could get the number two spot in the ratings and the demographic. Plus, I'm sure ABC could do something like a Lost clips show to catch viewers up the hour before if it were 9/8c on Wednesdays.

I dunno, man, Notes has always struck me as a show that would really hit it big if stupid ABC would only slot it at 10:30 and reunite it with its old buddy According to Jim! Those were the days! Roll Eyes

Seriously, though, I wonder what's going to happen with Miss/Guided. Might it get post-Dancing once Samantha is out of originals? I have a feeling that ABC really thinks this show is going to bomb. No word on it at this desperate point is a pretty bad sign.

Given that Mr. Thomas ankled Miss/Guided to take over production reins at Big Shots and the revived Cupid, I fear Miss/Guided may have been deemed beyond salvage.

I dont know, I heard the pilot was fantastic, and the critics seemed to love it
