According to Jenny Bicks, Men In Trees Exec Prod, latest blog, in addition to adding new writers "(David Rosenthal (he ran Gilmore Girls last year), Jennie Snyder (also from Gilmore Girls) and Mike Kramer", MIT will be airing Friday's at 9pm rather than at 8pm as announced -

SEASON TWO will start airing FRIDAY NIGHTS at 9:00 pm (our launch slot) starting at the end of September or beginning of October. This is the one date that they have not released yet—but stay tuned, we will have it well in advance of our premiere. NOTE: ABC officially announced we were on at 8 pm on Fridays, this has been changed. We are now premiering in the 9:00 pm time slot, after 20/20. So, don’t get confused. 9:00 pm. Friday nights. We will be followed by Women’s Murder Club at 10 pm.
Do you think this is a permanent change or will be for the first few weeks of the new season?
I think CBS will continue to win Friday nights next season, followed by NBC, and then ABC. Women's Murder Club may not do too well against another procedural like Numb3rs, while Men In Trees should perform okay, but I wouldnt be surprised if the series was beat by Las Vegas.
I also think Moonlight will be a good pairing with Ghost Whisperer and hopefully a new leading lady and David Greenwalt can improve the series before it airs. And the only weak spot on NBC Fridays is Friday Night Lights, which would probably do better in between 1 vs. 100 and Las Vegas.
I think ABC has a shot on Fridays, I just wonder if the target demo is home on Friday nights. The Female 18-34 demo will be out of the home, more times than not. (Party Night)
Men in Trees did fine on Friday last fall. With more exposure I expect it to do at least as well (7 million, mid 2's in 18-49s). I think ABC is on the right track on this night.
