Women's Murder Club, which has been hovering near death for the past two weeks, has succeeded in finding a new boss and will return to ABC's sked in late April, a show spokesperson confirms. Law & Order vet Robert Nathan has come onboard as show-runner and will oversee production of this season's final three episodes.
Meanwhile, there was some talk that 20th Century Fox, the studio behind Murder Club, was planning to retool the show as an Angie Harmon vehicle, but the show rep denies that. "There are no plans to revamp the series dramatically or shift the emphasis in any way," insists the spokesperson. "It remains a procedural focused on the four women leads who partner together to solve crimes."
Still no word on when Murder Club will air when it returns, but I'm guessing it won't be Friday night at 9 pm. Might I suggest Mondays at 10 pm after Dancing with the Stars and Samantha Who? Just putting it out there.
That's okay wiseguy -- I know a lot of people were discussing WMC's fate in this area, so it was a good idea to post it here as well. I don't know how many people actually check out the individual show thread.
I just hope ABC gives those 3 episodes a good timeslot, and I think they'll be pleasantly surprised with the result.
Ausiello says Mondays @ 10pm, but that's taken by the Bachelor.
What do you think about Tuesdays following DWTS results show?
They're saying it's not going to be its original Friday timeslot...
I'd prefer Monday's myself because I'm still a fan of Boston Legal. (More actually than WMC.) Unless the results show ends at 9pm and not 10pm as I'm assuming, then fine.
I think ABC's decision to change showrunners before continuing was a smart one. The show has a great cast, but the execution and storylines are little more than your average procedurals. I hope they can find a way to make this show more unique in some way as to give folks a reason to tune in.

That's what I meant -- moving DWTS:results up an hour to 8pm (competing with AI), WMC at 9pm, and BL at 10pm when it returns.
They could try this out without commiting to it by airing a rerun of WMC in one of the upcoming Tuesdays @ 9pm -- it would almost certainly do better than their comedies are doing now.
I would love for it to go to Mondays @ 10pm, but they've already started advertising The Bachelor as going there.

I read that Robert Nathan, the new showrunner, was co-EP of not just L&O, but also ER (during its peak). I did a search on imdb, and his resume looks pretty impressive. Also has a few years of L&O:SVU which today is the most successful L&O. I think this bodes well for WMC -- hopefully it will get a decent timeslot.

Has anyone heard where WMC will be placed, once it returns?

Can anyone please confirm this with a simple link or something? I won't be surprised if ABC f's over BL some more, especially for a show that belongs on a Friday based on results out of Greys Anatomy earlier this year.

Well, exmalibu says s/he got it from a contact over at ABC media relations, so I don't think it's listed anywhere online yet...
