With the strike appearing to end here real soon, what do you think the network should do with their lineups? In the case of ABC, the addition of some midseason shows makes for a pretty packed lineup. Here's what I propose and keep in mind that some shows will likely take a lot longer to return to the airwaves than others.

Mondays:
Dancing (90 minutes)
Samantha Who?
Private Practice
Give Private Practice some love already and a lead in.

Tuesdays:
Dancing results (head to head against Idol)
Dirty Sexy Money
Boston Legal

Give Idol some real competition and at the same let DSM have a nice lead in. Its more female skewing and older viewership could fit well with Dancing.

Wednesday:
Wife Swap/Pushing Daisies
Supernanny
Men in Trees

For this year just let this lineup air imo. Pushing Daisies will take a while to get back and when it does just leave it in the same timeslot (which won't feature much in terms of scripted competition). In some ways its a throw away night, but with so many episodes of these shows, I would just use them. Then ABC can load up on the other nights of the week.

Thursday:
Ugly Betty
Greys
Eli Stone/Lost

Lost will take a while to get more eps so use Eli Stone until then.

Fridays:
According to Jim
Just for Laughs
Women's Murder Club
20/20

Saturdays:
Movies

Sundays:
AFV
Home Edition
Desperate Housewives
Brothers and Sisters

Overall this lineup features strong Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday lineups with a Friday lineup that should at least match its levels from last fall. Wednesdays will be weaker but no weaker than current level as Men in Trees has the potential to be much stronger than Cashmere Mafia.

I like your line-up, mushu_jj.

I hope they play the remaining Cavemen episodes in the summer. Perhaps paired up with either Carpoolers or Mis/Guided.

I think we will see the episodes burned off dumont in the summer. I'd guess Carpoolers will get pulled here soon and probably air with it. If they don't garner much attention there (which they won't) then its possible online playout could be in the cards. Glad you like the lineup though. If I was ABC, I'd save Miss/Guided for fall and pair it with SW?.

I think some of you have some really great ideas for the schedule, but unfortunately some propably won't happen. What we need to remember is that when the series will be back in production they won't have time to shoot/produce more than 6 episodes. I seriously doubt, they will produce more episodes for Lost or Pushing Daisies this season. Both of them already have what can be used as a season finale... But wait, I know it is frustrating (cause they're two of my favourites shows on TV) but it would be a waste for them to promote and produce more episodes for what's left of the actual season. I would see Los having 24 episodes for next season and maybe 25 for Pushing Daisies.

Monday
8:00 - Dancing with the Stars (New season)
9:30 - Samantha Who?
10:00 - The Bachelor (New season)

I don't think they will change that formula for now, it works that way. But change it next fall, for sure.

Tuesday
8:00 According to Jim
8:30 MISS/GUIDED (new series)
9:00 - Dancing with the Stars (Results show)
10:00 - Boston Legal

If it don't work that way then just put Dance recap at 8.

Wednesday
8:00 - Wife Swap
9:00 - Supernanny
10:00 - Men in Trees / Dirty Sexy Money

Thursday
8:00 - Ugly Betty
9:00 - Lost / Grey's Anatomy
10:00 - Eli Stone / Private Practice

The only big move I have made is for PP. I believe it could be a great time slot for the show and possibly be a show that would success after GA (since everything ABC tried ended up failing). And we have to remember original episodes won't be out before may sweeps (or just a bit before that).

Friday
8:00 - Primetime
9:00 - Women's Murder Club
10:00 - 20/20

I'm revising my lineup because the belief now is that newer shows won't get back on the air this year but relaunch next fall. Good move. More on that here: http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors...ys-Anatomy/800032401

So here's my revised lineup and no I'm not moving Lost to another night just so it doesn't have to air at 10pm. Greys is an excellent lead in for it. Not to mention, there's a great chance that new eps won't even get produced of that. Also, don't think that new eps of Miss/Guided will even be produced as that show hasn't produced I believe more than one ep.

Monday:
Dancing
SW repeats
The Bachelor

Tuesday:
According to Jim
Just for Laughs
Dancing results
Boston Legal

Wednesday:
Wife Swap
Supernanny
Men in Trees

Thursday:
Ugly Betty
Greys Anatomy
Eli Stone remaining eps/ Lost new eps if available or try out a gameshow here if no new Lost eps available

Friday:
Primetime
Women's Murder Club repeats
20/20
I would also note that the first few weeks new eps are on that Friday and Saturday should be used as encore nights of the first new eps back and then use this lineup the rest of the time.

Saturday:
Movies

Sunday:
AFV
Home Edition
Desperate Housewives
Brothers and Sisters

Here is what I think ABC should do from now until new episodes are made. This way it will be a good test to see if marginal shows can survive new time slots and what to bring back for next season.

Sundays:
AFHV
EM:HE
Oprah's Big Give/Desperate Housewives
Desperate Housewives Repeats/Brothers and Sisters

Mondays:
Dance Wars/ DWTS
Samantha Who
NFTU (burn off ramaining 6 eps)/The Bachelor

Tuesdays:
According to Jim
Just For Laughs
DWTS Results
Boston Legal

Wednesdays:
Wife Swap/Pushing Daisies
Supernanny/Private Practice
Men it Trees

Thursdays:
Lost Repeats/Ugly Betty
Lost/Grey's
Eli Stone/Dirty Sexy Money

Fridays:
Primetime/October Road (relaunch 5 remaining episodes)
Drama Repeats/Women's Murder Club
20/20

Saturday:
Movies
Burnoff Cavemen/Carpoolers

Cancel:Cavemen, Carpoolers, Cashmerie Mafia, Big Shots, Notes From the Underbelly

Sink or Swim: October Road, Men in Trees, Dirty Sexy Money, (possibly Eli Stone, to soon to tell)

I'm guessing the networks will work to get 6-8 episodes done of each show... enough to launch on or around April 1.

Here's what I would do:

MONDAY
8:00 Dancing With The Stars
9:30 The Bachelor

Both shows can be adjusted to deal with length.

TUESDAY
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (repeat)
9:00 Dancing With The Stars (results)
10:00 Eli Stone

Gives Eli a real shot behind a more compatible lead-in.

WEDNESDAY
8:00 Wife Swap
9:00 Supernanny
10:00 Private Practice

Female focused and good counterprogramming.

THURSDAY
8:00 Ugly Betty
9:00 Lost
10:00 Grey's Anatomy

ABC wins this night running away

FRIDAY
8:00 Oprah's Big Give
9:00 Pushing Daisies
10:00 Boston Legal

Oprah (if as good as people seem to be) would win HH easily and give PD a good lead-in and BL could watch its older skewing audience shift to Friday.

SATURDAY
8:00 According To Jim
8:30 Just for Laughs
9:00 October Road
10:00 Dirty Sexy Money

Give these shows a chance and see how they do.

SUNDAY
7:00 America's Funniest Home Videos
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9:00 Desperate Housewives
10:00 Brothers & Sisters

Pushing Daisies on FRIDAY? The only thing I hate about your schedule. Besides that good.

As one of many younger Boston Legal fans out there and a Pushing Daisies fan, I reject this lineup and offer this more suitable lineup for those who don't go out on Friday nights:
According to Jim
Just for Laughs
Women's Murder Club
20/20

Thanks!

MONDAY
8 - DWTS
9:30 - SW?
10 - OR burnoff till the Bachelor's Mar. 17 premiere

Of all the ABC newbies, I would try hardest to get some fresh SW? going.

TUESDAY
8 - According to Jim
8:30 - Just for Laughs
9 - Dancing Results
10 - Boston Legal

WEDNESDAY
8 - Lost
9 - Supernanny
10 - Private Practice

Wednesday is the day I'm least sure about, but I like putting Lost back here, and keeping the scripted stuff out of Idol's way.

THURSDAY
8 - Ugly Betty
9 - Grey's Anatomy
10 - Eli Stone/Dirty Sexy Money

Season finale of Eli Stone should be in late April. Even if DSM doesn't make any new eps, it still has three in the can that can get a great post-Grey's lead-in for a bit.

FRIDAY
8 - Wife Swap or maybe Duel, though Duel if at 8 should be saved until after 1 vs. 100 is done and the (probably) inferior Amne$ia takes over
9 - Women's Murder Club or Duel if WMC can't produce eps
10 - 20/20

SUNDAY
7 - AFHV
8 - EM:HE
9 - Desperate Housewives
10 - Brothers & Sisters

Big Give, which has 8 eps total, can be doubled up on a couple Sunday nights to have it done with by mid-late April, allowing Housewives/B&S to run their final 5 or 6 in their regular slots.

This is all assuming no new eps of new shows are made. If PD is able to get new eps, obviously it should make the schedule ahead of some of this stuff.

I think the Oprah thing will be a hit.

I'm thinking 15 millions and 4.5 in the demo

mushu, I really like this lineup! I know you had to modify it after new information that a lot of the freshman series will be held until a Fall re-launch, but I can easily see this lineup in the Fall, if not late Spring. I think due to the strike, ABC would be very smart to go with such a lineup in the Fall, then wait to launch its 2008-09 development/pilot pickups in January.

A couple of the things I really like are having Private Practice follow DWTS/SW on Mondays (I recommended that for this past Fall but everybody thought PP could anchor Wednesdays), as well as DWTS: Results pushed up to 8pm to lead-into another series -- though not sure whether that series should necessarily be DSM.

I will respond a bit later with my lineup for both Spring and Fall, then Jan 09, but for now this is the one I like the best. Well do mushu -- I hope ABC is checking out this thread! Wink

I would somehow find room for Oprah's Big Give, however. Probably where it is scheduled to run, Sundays following EM:HE until late April, then have DH come in for the May sweeps...
