Dumont Prime Choices

Thursday is it for quality, compelling television.

MY THURSDAY PRIME:

LIVE:

8:00 pm Smallville (The CW) -> I liked last week's Green Arrow episode. It's time to give Mr. Hartley a spinoff series, please.

Find yourself Lost this Thursday on ABC

9:00 pm Lost (ABC) -> So rich in mystery and lore, this series is.

10:02 pm Eli Stone (ABC) -> With Lost going to Thursdays at 10 pm for the May Sweep, has it been said where the Alphabet plans to put Eli Stone?

LATER:

9:00 pm Supernatural (The CW) -> Also shrouded in a rich tapestry of mystery and lore (gore too, sometimes), and this weeks episode hints at a menacing circular loop of death for one of the Winchester brothers.

10:00 pm Lipstick Jungle (NBC) -> One more chance for this series to win me over. Last week wasn't so bad as melodramas go.

Live:
8 - Survivor (CBS)
9 - Lost (ABC)
- Still TV's best hourlong.
10 - Eli Stone (ABC)

Maybe Online:
10 - Lipstick Jungle (NBC) - Skimmed through this one night on nbc.com and noticed that a couple particularly egregious scenes from the early pilot had been taken out. So this series may not be as bad as I thought it was months ago. I may or may not try once more.

XWISEGUYX's Thursday Picks 2 Click

Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites : Jonny Fairplay is out! Good. Toinight: The two tribes learn that a person from each team will be sent to Exile Island where an immunity idol is hidden. As turmoil threatens the fans' camp, Amanda and Ozzy steam up the favorites' beach with unbridled passion. At tribal council, another castaway is voted out of the competition.

Celebrity Apprentice Good news: George continues tonight and no Donald Jr!!! Tonight: The remaining stars must manage a horse-and-carriage business in Central Park, but it's a bumpy ride for one team when two members viciously butt heads. Billy Baldwin, Jenna Jameson and country artist John Rich make appearances, while George Ross and Ivanka Trump preside over the task.

Lost Tonight! Locke's hostage could be the key to getting off the island (ha, ha), so Sayid and Kate search for their fellow castaway in an attempt to negotiate a peaceful deal.

Eli Stone Each week's episode is a different George Michael Song. Tonight in an episode called "Father Figure": Eli has visions of World War II before taking on a National Guard soldier's custody battle with her husband, who is represented by Eli's fiancée, Taylor. Meanwhile, Eli asks Nathan for help with his medical records when his boss demands an update on his condition.

Cable Alerts!

Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares (BBCAmerica) The BBC Version is a great way to tide you over until the American Version makes it's return. Tonight: In rural Wales, a boxer-turned-cook struggles to accommodate his restaurant's massive menu, while his wife's front-of-house management style leaves much to be desired.

Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr. Drew (VH1) A fun filled hour of your favorite D Listers getting clean. Last week, we found out the kinky side to Daniel Baldwin. Tonight: Patients are faced with the decision to either take to the program or discharge themselves. Later, the celebs' family members visit the facility and participate in group-therapy sessions.

There's enough time for both of them: Here's what the schedule looks like -- after tonight they will each have completed 3 episodes, with LOST having 5 remaining of the original 8, then will come back in late Spring with 5 more. Eli Stone after tonight will have 10 remaining episodes. So LOST originals, followed by Eli Stone originals, will run through March 20th. Eli Stone can continue to run until April 17th, where it can finish with a 2-hr finale, then the next week April 24th, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and LOST come back to finish off the season with 5 original episodes. Alternately, after March 20th, ABC can move Eli Stone to Tuesdays either leading into or out of Dancing with the Stars: Results, which would significantly shore up their worst (or second worst) night of the week.

Ditto! I'm watching LOST live as usual, and will give Eli Stone another shot as well. The 2nd episode wasn't as exceptional as the premiere, but still pretty good -- I don't like to see Victor Garber sing though, so I hope last week was the exception. I think George Michael is coming back to sing in this one, along with 2-3 more episodes, including the season finale (episode 13).

I read that ABC will hold back the eighth episode of LOST as the seventh episode had a more natural cliffhanger and air the eighth episode with the final batch of 6 episodes which would make March 13th the final air date for the current run.

Yes, according to E!online, the LOST part of the above schedule is correct, with the exception that Zedman posted above. See below:

quote:
Lost is back! Oh, wait, that happened two weeks ago.

What I mean is, Lost will be back-back, after the strike. And even better, we've just checked in with inside sources, and we have dates! Yes, dates! So, break out your calendars, 'cause we're hearing this is the approved plan:

The last episode of the current pod (episode seven) will air Mar. 13. Then the show will be off the air for six weeks and return Apr. 24 at 9 p.m.

(That Apr. 24 episode will be the already-completed episode eight, which was filmed prestrike, but which apparently works much better as a minipremiere than it does as a minifinale.)

Anyhoo, the following week, on Thurs., May 1, a little show called Grey's Anatomy returns to its usual 9 p.m. time slot, so Lost will move to 10 p.m., where it will stay for the rest of the season.

"Yippee" just doesn't do it justice, does it?

To find out what this all means for the season-four story, I checked in with my personal Jesus, Damon Lindelof, who explains how his writing team plans to squish the eight episodes of plot they had planned into only five more episodes.

"We are going to execute our full story plan for season four," D.L. says. "This simply requires a shift from high-octane storytelling to superhigh-octane storytelling. It requires no cramming, only a slightly heavier foot on the gas pedal...so, hold on to your hats. Those of you waiting for the long-anticipated Jin and Hurley Ping-Pong tournament, however, will be very disappointed."

If you want to get un-confused, or perhaps get even more confused and completely sucked into the LOST lore, check out this thread that talks to something we all saw but only very few picked up on from last week's episode -- particularly pay close attention to those pictures in the screen capture -- this thread blew my mind!!
