Question: Why are shows coming back and then going to repeats?
Well typically they repeat once or twice before the season ends. It's normal.
If I were the nets, I would've just ordered enough episodes so they don't go into repeats until the end of the season.
This isn't a normal season. More likely CBS aired the shows earlier, rather than wait an extra week or two, than the other networks and now they have a week of repeats.

I didn't say this season was normal, I said that it is normal for the repeating to happen around this time.

You're correct and I agree with you. Normally, this would be the time for repeats to occur, however, the point I tried to state was the fact that with shows being repeats for three months, once the new shows started airing, the network wouldn't all of a sudden air a repeat after air two weeks of originals.
8:00 pm My Name is Earl (NBC) -> In my opinion, this is the weakest series of the NBC Thursday comedy block, but it's still pretty funny.
8:30 pm 30 Rock (NBC) -> Last week was inspired comedy done right. And Miss Fey graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week. 30 Rock is very it.
9:00 pm The Office (NBC) -> I enjoyed the home away from The Office slant to last week's episode...can't wait for the Get Smart movie to open, which can only help this series build its ratings.
9:30 pm Scrubs (NBC) -> Last week was hilarious, suggesting this series will have a humdinger of a final season.
10:02 pm Eli Stone (ABC) -> Season finale...fingers crossed for season two.
LATER: Thursdays are My Night for Movies on MyNetworkTV
8:00 pm – Bad Company (MyNetworkTV) -> I'm watching this one for Sir Anthony Hopkins, even though I heard it's not that great of a movie.
Live: 8:30 - 30 Rock (NBC) - I thought last week was scattered and unfunny, but I'm really looking forward to the return of Dean Winters. His early season 1 arc was classic.
9 - The Office (NBC) - Last week was very uncomfortable, but good uncomfortable.
10 - Eli Stone (season finale) (ABC) - Will the DH tryout and the diminished competition help? Does it even matter, with the show seemingly getting huge credit for things other than the numbers?
Ratings Watch:Eli Stone. I'm not buying the current breeze that has this ticketed for renewal. A failure to cash in on the special airing with improved numbers tonite should be the end of the line for this series.
