Live:
8 - The Sarah Jane Adventures (SciFi) - This BBC import is targeted at kids, but last week's 90-min premiere was not bad. I want to see how it looks in its regular 30-minute form.
8:30 - Doctor Who (season premiere) (SciFi)

DVR:
8 - Ghost Whisperer (CBS) - Not a regular viewer of this, but I've watched the last couple and they've been better than I remembered this show usually being.
9 - Duel (ABC) - Hoping this much-maligned game show finds an uptick now that it isn't up against a decades-old game show.

BattleStar Gallactica at 10pm on Scifi channel. Of course, the odds are heavily that I will be watching it before then streamed online at scifi.com top of each hour from 9am to 4pm. Clearly, the higherups don't care at all if people watch it on the cable network. No real surprise that Scifi channel will be among the leaders to convert the country from broadcast/ cable/ satellite into the fulltime internet platform.

But really it's their last season so SciFi does not really have to care about keeping the episode close guarded. I'm sure they know fans have been dieing to see the anticipated season, this way fans get to see it earlier if they choose and if not can watch at 10. Also, it helps those that are not usually at home during the night since it is Fridays.

Dumont Prime Choices

MY FRIDAY PRIME:

LIVE:

9:00 pm Canterbury's Law (FOX) -> Is this the season finale? So soon? Please, Mr. Reilly...I want some more. What a noirish legal meller this show turned out to be.

10:00 pm 20/20 (ABC) -> 20/20 tonight is one of those special episodes with the title "Your Weather: Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity". This sounds like hard-hitting expose journalism of The Weather Network.

LATER:

Fridays are My Night for Movies on MyNetworkTV
8:00 pm – Coyote Ugly (MyNetworkTV) -> I know ABC showed this feature a handful of times on Saturday night, but I never got around to watching it. I do remember the adverts with the young ladies dancing on bars.

Cinema Treasures 24/7 on Turner Classic Movies
10:00 pm The Stepford Wives (TCM) -> This original film (not the recent, pallid re-make) remains one of the creepiest looks at the conformity of the suburban dream. I have vivid memories of when it premiered on The ABC Sunday Night Movie in October 1976 (garnering a most hefty 27.1HH/43% share), and the morning afterwards everybody was talking about their reactions to it.

Duel ABC has ordered a second, 10-episode season of the game show Duel, in which players went head-to-head in a bid to nab a $500,000 top prize. But the ratings again were awful but perhaps not airing against the Price is Right will help.

Cable Alert!

Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO): This remains the best of the Political Shows out there and with the upcoming elections, it's of more interest than ever. Tonight: Feminist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, journalist Jeremy Scahill.

The remake was such an improvement over the awful original.

If the remake was better, than the original nust be the absolute worse. I thought the recent version was horrible. Very Unwatchable.
