I plan to watch "Duel" again tonight.

It's not perfect -- the pacing was glacially slow, and there's too much repetition in explaining the rules -- but it is a nice change of pace from the money trees and "player vs. the house" mentality that we've seen from most prime time games in recent years.

If the show does well ratings wise and warrants another tournament, I'm hopeful ABC can fix the pacing issues.

I liked it but will be recording it and skipping through the slow stuff. I bet I get through it in 40 minutes.

This is what I was wondering too. I thought it was supposed to be one hour for six nights and then was changed late when the SW? eps started tanking. If that's the case, maybe tonight will drag again and it'll get better later in the week.

Might be a show better DVR'd.

I thought Duel was boring after 1/2 hour, but I don't like game shows. It is slightly more intelligent than picking a case #.

The host wasn't very good, the contestants were over the top and overly energized (the producers must have told them to make "good TV"), the trivia questions weren't that challenging and the whole betting chips has been done before (think The Price is Right). All of this is just my opinion of course. I found it to be just an average game show with not much innovation or hook to continue watching.

My thoughts on Duel were that it was a good premise that turned out to be boring. It would have been better if when you bet 1 on a correct answer you get 2 back. That would have made players more aggressive.
