My Weekend TV:

My Saturday Prime:

LIVE:
8:00 pm In the Army Now (MNT) -> Miss Lori Petty is one of my favourite stars. I have seen 'Tank Girl' at least a half-dozen times over the years.

11:00 pm MADtv (FOX) -> Funny season opener last week...a better written hour than SNL, which only shone in the first five minutes.

12:00 pm Talkshow with Spike (FOX) -> Mr. Feresten did such an exemplary job hosting the 'FOX Fall Preview Show' that I'm back into watching his vastly under-rated late-night talkshow.

LATER:

11:30 pm Saturday Night Live (NBC) -> Maybe this week will be funny beyond the opening skit. Sometimes, a long holiday for a writing staff is not such a good thing.

----------

My Sunday Prime:

ABC:

6:00 pm KTLA Red Carpet Special (CW) -> Who's wearing what? Who's zooming who? KTLA will tell me everything that Mr. Kimmel won't.

8:00 pm 60th Primetime Emmy Awards (ABC) -> Go '30 Rock' and 'Mad Men', I hope you both get armloads of golden statues, though I do continue to lament the utter dearth of nominations for 'Friday Night Lights'.

LATER:

7:00 pm 60 Minutes (CBS) -> Tonights season preem focuses on Senators Obama and McCain. Tough questioning is expected.

7:00 pm Play It Back 90s (GSN) -> I watched the 70s and 80s retrospective specials, and they were a real treat, along with Sunday afternoon episodes from gameshows of yesteryear (really liked those vintage 'Dating Game' episodes). GSN really must open up more of their sked for quality classic gameshows from decades past...I would love to see 'You Bet Your Life' starring Mr. Groucho Marx again.

I love Tank Girl. She and Malcom McDowell were wonderful in that movie. She was also a joy to watch in Point Break. I'm surprised that you are not posting weekly to try and get the network to bring back Lush Life.

Sunday 7pm CBS: 60 Minutes: The entire show will be devoted to interviews with John McCain and Barack Obama.

The Emmy Awards, of course, but I miss the old days of seeing shows like Mary Tyler Moore, The Waltons and All in the Family compete. It's just not the same anymore.

Now that MyNetworkTV had such success with 'The Twilight Zone' as a summer encore series, perhaps they can bring back Miss Petty's superb 'Brimstone' series next summer for a summer reprise.

As for movies, I loved 'Point Break' (and have seen it many times), but you must seek out 'Prey for Rock & Roll', which got a limited release, but is a real tour-de-force for Miss Petty. Perhaps Mr. Meidel might bring that to MyNetworkMovies if tonights 'In the Army Now' gets good Nielsens. MyNetworkMovies is such a sanctuary for daring, brash independent films...its movie nights are the broadcast version of IFC and Sundance Channel.

I would love to see Lost get the EMmy, but I think it is going to Mad Men.
