My Wednesday Prime:
What a superb night of television lies ahead, with something good to watch across four different broadcast networks.
LIVE:
8:00pm Tony Rock Project (MyNetworkTV) -> With all the buzz on this series, I'm expecting it to open well over 2 million and maybe even crack past that 1.0 A18-49 MNT demo record.
8:30pm Under One Roof (MyNetworkTV) -> This show hasn't been on air since July, and its nice to see it back. Hopefully it does better with a solid lead-in.
9:00pm World's Funniest Moments (MyNetworkTV) -> What began as a series of one-off specials has spawned a series that stars Mr. Arsenio Hall, funnyman extraordinaire.
10:00 pm Lipstick Jungle (NBC) -> I do not understand why this series gets such a hard time from the press and web commentators. More than any other series, it truly captures the spirit of 'Sex and the City'...the writing is clever and real, the acting top-notch, the Big Apple lensing is gorgeous.
LATER (DVR):
8:00 pm Pushing Daisies (ABC) -> Tell everyone you know to watch this show. We need to get that demo up over 3.0.
9:00 pm Private Practice (ABC) -> Last week's episode really kickstarted things into high gear. I do hope the partners find a way to lure Dell back.
10:01 pm Dirty Sexy Money (ABC) -> Last weeks cliffhanger ruled, and I think the writing on this series is much sharper in season 2.
LATER (VCR):
8:00 pm The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) -> I've started watching this show again (missed most of seasons 1 and 2), and its found its footing. A nice companion to Gary.
8:30 pm Gary Unmarried (CBS) -> CBS really needs to give Gary a few placements behind 'The Big Bang Theory' or 'Two and a Half Men' just to get the sample size up a bit, because its witty, sardonic, ironic and everything that I've come to expect from a comedy with Mr. Jay Mohr's imprint upon it.
