Tonight is probably the first time in my memory where on the second night of the February Sweep the landscape is so chock-a-block filled with encore programmming. Kudos to NBC and The CW for being the only networks with fresh offerings (and ABC with 20/20).
MY FRIDAY PRIME:
LIVE:
9:00 pm Friday Night Lights (NBC) -> Last Friday, this series made it up to the 2.0s in the demo, and for such a fine episode. Now that its the only original scripted offering, I fervently hope that his exceptional series will see its season high, and, would it be too much to hope for a series high?
10:15 pm The Hospital (TCM) -> Next to Network (which plays just after midnight on TCM as part of 31 Days of Oscar), The Hospital is my next favourite movie scribed by the genius Mr. Paddy Chayefsky. You will not find dark satire penned any better...and the comedic moments share much in common with shows like Grey's Anatomy at its best. Mr. George C. Scott is exceptional, as always, as is Miss Diana Rigg. How little life in hospitals has changed over the past 47 years since this films release.
LATER:
Fridays are My Night for Movies on MyNetworkTV 8:00 pm – Little Man Tate -> Stars Miss Jodie Foster. I need say no more.
10:00 pm 20/20 (ABC) -> Not sure what's up tonight, but I'll DVR it and watch the more interesting features.
1 vs. 100: Still without a doubt, the best prime time game show out there. NBC continues to underpromote and invest all their marbles in the more inferior Deal Or No Deal. The pace is faster than any other prime time show as well. Tonight, Are You Smarter Than A Primate? Jake The Chimp Joins the Mob!
Cable Alert!
Psych (USA): This show is good thanks to the lead actors, but it could be so much better if they got themselves a new writing team. Still, I watch.
Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO):Real Time with Bill Maher last week was a huge success! The legendary Herbie Hancock stopped by, along with Law & Order SVU’s Richard Belzer. Martha Raddatz even joined the panel, fresh off the plane from Afghanistan! The show has actually been more interesting without the writers thanks to their fun remote interviews with everyday people. Last week, they went to a hair salon to talk to the voters on who they were voting for President. What's in store for this week? Check it out tonight! This remains the best of the Political Shows out there and with the upcoming elections, it's of more interest than ever.
Local Viewer Alert!
Check Please! :Friday, February 01 at 8:00 pm WTTW Channel 11 Restaurants reviewed include Semiramis, BOKA, La Bruquena

I will be out at the movies. But this weekend I will be watching 1 vs. 100 on Tivo, as well as catching up with other stuff I Tivo'ed this week, but didn't get to like Eli Stone, The View, and Law and Order.
