"According to a brand-new press release, CBS' Jericho will be airing repeat-free in this, its freshman season, albeit with a major hitch: the drama is taking a 10-week breather after staging a cliffhanger finale on Nov. 29, then returning with all-new (and nothing-but-new) episodes on Feb. 21, 2007, starting with a flashback to how life was in Jericho pre-nuclear attack.
Filling Jericho's Wednesdays-at-8 time slot during the month of December be double helpings of The King of Queens, which debuts its ninth season on Dec. 6. As for what happens come January, when the King scales back to single-episode outings, CBS says an announcement will be made at a later date."
It seems LOST won't be the only show taking a break. I guess shows with a serial format won't be airing repeats.
Not sure if this will work out well for Jericho or not. King of Queens could catch fire by some fluke and then what will CBS do with Jericho??
Jericho is a modest hit not the blowout thta LOST is. My concern is that the viewers will drift away to something else.
Much like Galactica with its LONG lay off, I think that has been a nearly fatal blow to the series.
I still wish CBS would move Jericho over to The CW to fill one of many holes there. Jericho would surely be the standout show on The CW vs being lost in the shuffle on CBS with CSI and the rest.
Rogue River was the best episode yet for Jericho. The lay off could also be for the producers to get the episodes for the rest of the season taped.
I think they are on episode 9 or 10 right now filming wise. So the lay off will also help the producers.
I know I will stick around for Jericho, god willing. Much like I did for Galactica.

It was? I am convinced you are on their payroll now.
Am I the only one who really liked the show when it began, but, as each episode goes by they seem to be getting worse and worse?? In this day and age, why are shows of this magnitude still employing the horrible effects of filming driving scenes with the fake movie strip in the background? That was embarassing to watch last night from a production standpoint, as if it was from the 70's/80's.
Aside from that concern, the storyline needs to focus primarily on the blast, surrounding areas, and the gov't. This sidetracking plot of Dad being sick, Eric and his wife, and the black market goons from Skeet's past is no where near as interesting a draw and shouldn't be the main focus as it has been. Between the storyline and the acting of half the cast, this may be a hit now, but next season could see some problems IMO.
I like this show and I don't see it going anywhere come February. The decision to air non-stop new episodes is a good one (think Prison Break). The King of Queens would likely be moved back to Monday if it does very well (and I think that it will do quite decently).

If KING OF QUEENS catches fire, it would be a miracle, not a fluke. A tired, overexposed (reruns are already in syndication), comedy in its 9th season isn't really a threat to JERICHO. It's more likely that this is KOQ's last hurrah, if you want to call it a 'hurrah'.
