Goetz has finally paid for his crimes, but will the conspiracy to buy the Western United States finally be brought to light?

Since the ratings haven't done gang-busters, this may well be The Final Episodes!!

It turns out 'John Smith' is the ultra-bad guy....except I buy Toredo with the board of Jennings & Rall doing it more easily. If you want to bring down a company, you kill its reputation in the stock market. Get it under investigation by the SEC and the stockholders support for the board starts to crumble. Slightly easier than blowing up 26 cities in the nation.

BUT...if this 'Allied States of America' is just getting on its feet and the board of J&R is in Cheyenne along with their re-Constitutional Convention and THEN you nuke all of them, well the sole surviving Officer of J&R can came in and write his own Constitution and call it the Allied States of Smith. God bless the A.S.S.!

Oh, and I could have believed that stolen truck was Lo-Jacked and he just picked out the one that left Jericho, KS as the lights were turning out better than the bomb having a GPS all of this time, but that's OK.

Meanwhile, the good people of Jericho could have had their Sparticus Moment where they all stand in square and yell "I am Stanley Richmond!" or when faced with a 9pm shut-off, either going out on immediate general strike or at least demonstrating with a few cameras in sight. But it was good seeing Momma Green back.

And what was with SSG Turteltaub there? Was he giving himself a cameo?

Do we think think Jake and Hawkins are going to grab the bomb and try to fly it into Texas? Will the series end with Hawkins riding the bomb down to Texas ala Sam Pickens? And will Stantley and Mimi ever get married? STAY TUNED!

Awww Nuts!

CBS cancels 'Jericho'
By James Hibberd

March 22, 2008

CBS has nuked "Jericho."

Producers have been told the show is ending its run on the broadcast network, sources said.

CBS will air the season finale on Tuesday with an ending that helps give closure to fans.

After the first season concluded with an abrupt cut to black, fans famously inundated CBS with tens of thousands of pounds of peanuts to urge the network to continue the show. For the seven-episode second season, producers shot two endings – one that leaves viewers in suspense for a third round, another that is more conclusive.

The ending that will air Tuesday night doesn't entirely slam the door on the series and is only slightly different from the cliffhanger version, sources said. The ending also doesn't preclude the possibility of "Jericho" finding a second life on cable, though the economics of the production will likely prevent a continuation of the show.

The most recent episodes of "Jericho" have averaged about a 1.9 rating among adults 18 to 49 during their Tuesdays at 10 p.m. time period.

CBS declined comment, though a formal announcement is expected later today.

I'll be somewhat sad to see this show go. Its too bad more people didn't find it but oh well. I won't lose any sleep over it. At least its going out with some creative dignity left. The same can't be said for a lot of shows on TV today and it was nice of CBS to let them film the two endings so we won't be completely confused as to what would've happened.

It was a show that started out small, but in a macro sense they did keep the show together, mixing personal decisions and wider implications in a time of crisis. Glad that the ending wrapped things up, while leaving a door open. Don't know if we can entirely believe the Texas National Guard being professional & calm-headed. And glad to see it end with the most unlikely couples working together: Jake & Hawkins, Heather & Beck, Eric & Gray, and Mimi & Stanley.

Farewell [i]Jericho

The final episode was really good and I'm glad it ended like it did. The fact that Texas found their story and situation believable was a bit unrealistic for today's often drawn out TV lineup but it was a nice way to end the series.
