I think this is a pretty good schedule. It would seem to have been designed to continue to set up what CBS has been good at over these last years - which is having less holes in their line-up than the other nets. I too would have preferred the comedies on Sunday as a fix for the overrun. However, as Obveeous has pointed out in the past, it seems that many of us here are much more concerned about the extension of CBS's primetime past 11:00 than is CBS.

I believe Christine was the correct choice to move to Wednesdays (Sundays if my choice) even if the show ultimately fails in that timeslot. In opening a new night of comedy the last thing CBS should risk is hurting the only successful night of comedy on network TV - Mondays. By leaving BBT, HIMYM and MEN in tact, even if the expansion to another comedy night fails, it shouldn't adversely affect Mondays.

The thing about Christine is, a 20% drop in the demo from this year still gives it a year to year gain and I think CBS will give Project Gary a bunch of promotion.

I read this morning that of the 9 shows CBS brought to their Fall lineup the past two seasons, 4 in 2006 and 5 in 2007 only the BBT remains on their schedule from those 9 shows. Not a very good track record on Fall premiering shows. They do a little better at midseason premieres, but Fall premieres not good.

Project Gary- Sounds like it could be pretty funny, but like it will reach outlandish points way too early.

The Ex List- Kind of tired of these middle aged women seeking their true love series...

Harper’s Island (midseason)- Sounds interesting...

The Mentalist- Isn't this what Medium is about?

I think it's more along the lines of Monk or a modern Sherlock Holmes. From what I've read, the main character had previously used his talents to pretend to be a psychic, but that was some kind of scam.

From the reactions here and in the ratings thread, it looks like CBS has a lot of work to do in marketing these shows. Most people seem to think that 11th hour is a Sci-fi show, but if it follows the British version it's just a crime drama that has science in it. Something like NUMB3RS, but with science rather than math.

Both of them sound interesting to me. Does CBS ever have anything but crime dramas/procedurals, sitcoms and reality? No wonder they canceled Jericho, it must have stuck out like a sore thumb. Until I saw the schedule, it hadn't occurred to me that I watch nothing on their network. Well, other than my morbid fascination with Moonlight (it's like someone filmed an alternate-universe Angel fan-fiction and it's so bizarre that I just can't help myself).

Sounds interesting to me too. I hope that the 6 episodes are a self-contained run though. I can't stand to start watching a show and then never getting to know "who-done-it", or "who survives" in this case.

the EX-list sounds dreadful, so it will probably do quite well. As for the rest of it...same old, same old. Meh!

I don't know what happened, but Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily reported that the show is dead.

In a last minute move, Can Openers and Single White Millionaire got dropped and Journal and Tower got pushed to mid-season contention. No reason was really given.

Thanks. I actually liked the idea of Single White Millionaire, do you know if they'll ever show the pilot?

I'm mostly looking forward to the "Ex-list" and "Harper's Island". If I hadn't already seen the British version of the "Eleventh Hour" that one would have also been on my list.

Usually around August, pilots end up being leaked on the internet. I would suggest trying a search for Single White Millionaire pilot around that time.

From the clip of "The Ex List" CBS provided it seems like a good cross between Gilmore Girls and some romantic dramedy. Defiantly will keep an eye open.

Saw the clips for all the new CBS shows. I rank them:
1. Project Gary: Jay Mohr seemed like a perfect fit for this new comedy. The scene with the son was enjoyable. I just hope it doesn't become According to Jim: Unmarried dad edition.
2. The Mentalist: Lead actor was convincing that he has more than just the job and the science aspect was interesting. I'm in.
3. 11th Hour: Again the lead did it for me but I need to know a bit more about the show and just exactly as to how its supposed to stand out.
4. Worst Week: This scene was really not that funny but the concept with Kurtwood Smith of That 70s Show may be enough to entice me into viewing that first ep online after the airing.
5. The Ex List: Premise sounds great but wasn't sold on the clip. Of course, I'm no where near the target audience of older female here.
6. Harpers Island: The premise sounds like it has less longevity to it than Jericho (which probably could've gone 4 seasons max) and the clips were unappealing. Shouldn't base any of these on single clips but this is just how I saw it.

Are they available online somewhere, or do you have an inside track?

I've just watched the first 2(of 4)episodes of the UK show. In a word, it's bad, even with the presence of Patrick Stewart. It has an X-files feel to it, but there are no aliens or other supernatural elements to the show. Just human crimes committed by people in the scientific field. It will be a change from the never-ending supply of rapists, pedophiles, terrorists and brain-dead druggies on the current procedurals.

I think the US version should surpass the UK one this time. The Hollywood tendency to be big, loud, and a bit stupid will suit the premise well.

I'm in the target audience for this show and I dislike the premise. A whole show about finding a husband? Seriously?
