Far more important that the Britney Hype is the return of singing sensation 'Robin Sparkles' on tonight's How I Met Your Mother. The star singer that brought you 'Let's Go To The Mall' will debut her followup single 'Sandcastles in the Sand'. mushu_jj isn't really old enough to remember the 80's music, but for everyone that isn't still in diapers Wink, this episode should be a real treat.

Hey now. I love the 80s music (thanks to my part time job at an Adult contemporary radio station). Although Robin Sparkles is a bit out of my range. Wink

Don't forget that Robin Sparkles is a 90's sensation. Canada was just about 10 years behind everyones else.

I caught that last night when they mentioned Crash Test Dummies. I forgot that Canada is always a decade or so behind the US in 'trends'. Wink

I wasn't overly impressed with the video but the guest star appearance by Van Der Beek was pretty decent.

I thought that the video is an excuse for Robin and Barney to hook up. Well, I guess the second music video lost its 'surprised!' factor from the first.

As of fan of HIMYM, I personally wish the show would just stop with these ratings stunts. The show is a good show on its own, and gets good ratings. Why does it have to cheapen itself by using Britney again just to get ratings. To me, it almost makes the show look weak. It is almost like it has no confidence in itself, and needs the Britney boost to get ratings. I like the regulars in the show. I can live without Britney or a phoney ratings boost.

I like the regulars as well. I'm not opposed to guest stars if they are useful additions to the comedy (Sarah Chalke for example), but Britney's role was not.

That's a horrible thing to say.

I, on the other hand, am thrilled. I thought she did a nice job on the acting, and she wasn't brought into the show in some cheesy way like she was on Will & Grace.

I will, however, have a problem if she keeps returning, they might as well make her a regular. They could have made her one of the characters mothers. That role has yet to be played in that show.

She was hilarious. Here's to her bringing Stella with her. Ugh that stupid Scubs can't get off the air soon enough.

I also think Sarah Chalke was a good addition. She was funny and interesting. Britney is simply there to create buzz and create ratings. They should bring back Sarah, but leave Britney off.
