My guess is that something in development that looked good a few weeks ago, making SHARK look totally expendable, may have lost its priority thus bringing SHARK back into the picture.
THE UNIT is just sort of laying around in inventory at this point, a show they would be comfortable coming back with if they had to at some point, but one they would like to do without.

This is a common sense move. Shark was going to die against SVU with The Unit (R) as a lead-in. This gives it at least some reasonable chance. Maybe it was prompted by something behind the scenes, but it was always the better idea and will make for a higher-rated night overall.
Although this makes 4 shows in one hour for me, it's better for Shark to be coming out of NCIS rather than a repea of the Unit, clearly. It's also better to be the only procedural instead of taking on Women's Murder Club and SVU at 10P.
I think you are on to something. A lot of the CBS pilots are being tested in focus groups this week and on boards, there has been a lot of negative feedback for the pilots of Mythological Ex, Ny-Lon, and Can Openers.

Shark sucks and will never beat out The Unit .. I hope CBS falls flat on its face just like the always hyped BB does all the time LOL !!

mushi right now it is not exclusively my liking The Unit but that CBS has made one bad decision ater another and while Les may have liked The Unit at one time yes it shows he no longer cares about it but when any network continually pushed aside a series that was managing decent ratings to continually push other shows not bringing the numbers/demos in ie BB and Shark being questionable I do think it shows CBS is run by idiots who either need to step down or get their heads out of their asses and get it right since CBS is losing viewers . The only show on CBS right now worth watching is Moonlight but I'm sure CBS will screw that series too since already Nina's saying if the new episodes do not improve for ratinss/demos the fans of this show can kiss that one goodbye too !! I think GW is great too but that's already got its renewal but more times than not CBS is grasping at straws and Les is the one responsible . I keep waiting to hear about him being fired for his ongoing stupidity !
Pam I agree that Les has made an error this spring in not bringing back the Unit. There's no reason as to why BB couldn't have moved to 10pm Tuesday the past few weeks so 6 episodes or so of the Unit could've aired. Then Shark could've aired at 10pm Tuesday starting this week after those two. I've read the show is pretty spendy and that's probably going against it. Moonlight on the other hand, needs to prove itself. Year to year its ratings are really down in the time period but since the Unit seem somewhat unlikely to return and with Shark also very much on the bubble, I'd say that has a good shot unless CBS plans on launching 4 dramas plus an hour of comedies next year. The Amazing Race will also likely return in the fall and will take priority over these three bubble dramas.

Well those weren't the leading pilots from what we've heard from Nina herself. She was real high on the Mentalist from what I heard and I also think the likes of Exit 19 and Eleventh Hour have good shots of getting on the air.

Also, the Meant to Be's sounds like Friday fair to pair with GW.

No they weren't and THE MENTALIST and ELEVENTH HOUR were prioritized in her comments a few weeks ago. But MYTH EX and NY-LON were mentioned in the same comments, not as shows that she was ready to say "looked good" but rather as shows she was hopeful would diversify the type of procedurals they would have.
