I think the current schedule stays somewhat the same, except try BBT at the 9:30 slot on mondays.
I would hold back on the two other sitcoms (How many does each show have done???) until later in the season
Depending on how many episodes of Swingtown are done, I would place it against repeats of DH. See if you can draw that crowd over to a new show. worth a try.
"Swingtown" was ruined by the strike. Can't go on. Not sure what's going to happen with "The Captain," but they had just resumed production on that.
The biggest benefactor of the strike is probably "Old Christine." Even though it shut down immediately when Julia Louis-Dreyfus walked, it stands a better chance of having the episodes it did complete aired on Monday at either 8:30 or 9:00. Had the strike not happened, I don't think there was a chance in hell it would've returned to Monday. So now at least, there's some possibility of a fourth season.
"Big Brother" will undoubtedly fill 3 hours come late February/early March. (Sunday at 8:00, Tuesday 9:00, Wednesday at 8:00 are prime candidates.)
As far as their 160 crime shows are concerned, they all repeat well, so no need to do anything differently for those hours.
Even though most of their shows are dreck, CBS is in a MUCH better position than NBC and ABC are.
The perception is that they're in a better position but once people realize that its repeats for the long run its off to summer levels for them, which will be lower rated in the demo than ABC's shows like Wife Swap, Supernanny, Dancing, etc. NBC, on the other hand, is likely screwed unless a gameshow or reality show breaks out. Fox will win by a large margin.

In the case of shows like "CSI," summer levels... aren't too shabby.
P.S. Typo on my part. I of course meant to write 8:30 or 9:30 for "Old Christine." I think it's safe to say they're not going to put it in "Two and a Half Men's" time slot.
No but summer levels for the Sunday night shows and even CSI:NY aren't all that hot, especially in the demo (low 2's). Friday will be very interesting. Moonlight will most likley get pulled and they'd be wise to pull Ghost Whisperer too for a gameshow and maybe an extra night of 48 Hours. Saturday could go to repeats of the made for TV movies and Cold Case while Sunday could be 60 Minutes, Shark, TAR, Big Brother. This would give TAR a slightly younger skewing lead in and allow for Shark to help transition from older to younger viewers.

This is a chance for CBS to mess around a little during the strike, take a chance and gain new viewers for all it's shows.
Sundays: (CBS should try just keeping their reality tv to one night. People will be happy and they do generate good ratings so why not for a night they really need it, Sundays.) Kid Nation The Amazing Race Survivor/Big Brother
Mondays: The Big Bang Theory/New Adventures of Old Christine How I Met Your Mother Rules of Engagement/The Captain Two 2.5 Men Moonlight (Nothing is on Mondays at 10 and CBS wants younger viewers, why not place Moonlight with the shows that garner the attentions of the 18-49 demos, Comedies.)
Tuesdays: Criminal Minds CSI: Miami (Even when AI comes back, it should hold fairly well being a CSI franchise.) Cane (Give it a post CSI slot and ratings should kick up a bit if not a lot, can't hurt anymore then it is.)
Wednesdays: Cold Case Ghost Whisperer (It's perfect for any night and having a good lead in and out it will do fine, even up against PP.) Without a Trace
Thrusdays: NCIS CSI (Still up against Grey's so for sure CBS will be winning.) Shark
Fridays: Jericho/Swingtown (Can't lose no matter what, what's the harm in trying.) Numb3rs (Should be able to take back viewers of WMC from ABC.) The Unit

No way that many changes are happening if any will. CBS may just go with repeats and let Survivor, Big Brother, Power of 10, Jericho, and Christine fill holes. The Captain to me sounds like Waterfront, a show that will never make the air. They also have a Regis hosted gameshow available.

Its one thing to try to move things around to be agressive, but this is just a mess.
It disrupts current viewing patters roaylly.
You could try a couple of shows moving around (Shark to Tuesdays) but not 8% of the current schedule.

Not much to add other than agree with more exposure for TBBT. Also, THE UNIT may see the bench for awhile as it neither repeats real well nor is damaged by being off the air. It barely aired this summer, yet returned with the same ratings it ended last year with.
A test of SHARK at 10pm Tues isn't a bad idea, getting out of this questionable pairing with CC and seeing how it would stand up against the reruns of SVU which can be expected to be in the 8-9mm, high 2's range.
And if not that, they may want to see how CSI NY reruns would do against SVU reruns.
