I'd like to see Thursday 8:00 just be a year-round reality slot with Survivor in the fall, TAR in spring and Big Brother in summer.
They're all proven yet all at that point where staleness becomes a concern.
With CBS being as much, if not more, sports-oriented than Fox, I'd love to see CBS adapt the 7:00-8:00 Sunday easily dumpable sitcom reruns to accomodate sports runovers.
CBS has football in the fall, NCAA hoops in the late winter/early spring, then golf all of which have pushed back the prime-time lineup.
Wait. I know. 60 Minutes at 7:00 on Sunday night is a staple of American television. It'll never happen.
Uhm, so you are saying it would get 8.5mill like the other two shows? NO! It got 10.5 last Monday, and that was with out practically any promotion. I'm sure, that if it was permanently moved there, people would pick it up, and slowly tune into it. I'm not saying that it would get the 15mill it does now, but it would get up there.

So this means that Rules of Engagement is a 22 episode order? Also, I think The Big Bang Theory is going to turn out like The Class, haven't they figured out that the 8:00pm/8:30pm hour isn't going to change? Unless, of course, you put a hot show there like 2.5 Men!!!
2.5 Men didn't do so well in the 8:30PM slot. What makes you think it'll do better in the 8:00PM slot?

and despite myself, I'm actually intrigued about Kid Nation based on the preview video...maybe the CBS brass had something when they moved from this from the summer to the fall..(And I'm not dissing Jericho fans here...if the show had been picked up, I would have been OK with it).

I saw plenty of promotion, but oh well.
It doesn't need to move anywhere.

I noticed that the preview site has video for all of the new series except for VIVA LAUGHLIN. It must be even worse that most of us thought.... they can't even let us have a sneak peek...

I think CBS new shows are the worst of the lot for this coming season.
The programs are far too risky and the only one I believe that even has a chance is Moonlight.
The other programs are just not compatible enough with the regular audience that CBS relies on so heavily.
I don't think the network should have gone out and ordered more procedurals, I think they should have ordered 'different' shows but not programs that different.
I can't understand why they are launching yet another new series at 10/9c Tuesdays, the easiest thing to do would have been to shift an established hit to that slot (Shark anyone?).
And I cannot believe CBS switching Shark and Without a Trace around. It's just stupidly unnecessary in my opinion.

Right Al - they are going to put a show on Sunday nights and they aren't going to promote it all year. That must be it.

Let's be realistic here. Cane is by far the least risky - and I don't even see it as Risky. It actually has a great shot at a second season because it is has a great concept and has a recognizable lead. Plus you get diversity points for it.
And picking the Vampire show for possible success out of the bunch? The odds are extremely low that this one will make it. Yes, I'll watch, but the track record for mass appeal Vampire themed shows is not good. (And even if this show draws the numbers Angel drew, which is a longshot, aren't those pretty low for CBS standards?)
Everyone was complaining before that CBS only presented the same old Bruckheimer procedurals. Now that they are doing something about that, people are complaining again. Geez.

Just watched some previewes and Big Bang Theory looks OK. Not as bad as I originally thought. Good casting with the nerds. Even had a few funny lines. Gotta be better than Old Christine.
Cane doesn't look too bad. Kind of like a hispanic Dallas meets the Sopranos
Twilight is OK. Will fit good with Ghost Whisper, but not worth staying home on Fridays.
I Like Kid Nation, but I hope they tone down "Kid Emotions". Will be an interesting social experiment.
Funny how Viva laughlin is the only show without video. Must be like those BAD summer movies that Critics don't get to see in advance or the release.

I saw Big Bang and Cane. Cane looks good. Big Bang looks stupid. Period.
