Why should NBC, with its remakes "Bionic Woman" and "Knight Rider" have all the fun?
According to the "Hollywood Reporter", CBS is looking to update the 1970s crime drama "The Streets of San Francisco". The original series, which aired on ABC from 1972 to 1977 starred Karl Malden and Michael Douglas as a veteran homicide detective (Malden) paired with a wide-eyed rookie (Douglas).
Sheldon Turner ("The Longest Yard" remake) and Robert Port (of CBS's "Numb3rs") are attached to pen the pilot episode while Simon West ("Con Air") will direct.
CBS would actually be the third network to air "San Francisco". NBC aired a made-for-TV film, "Back to the Streets of San Francisco" in 1992.
