I don't know why CBS changed the name. This new name is much less appealing. It just invites criticism as anyone who hates the show is going to call it Gary Cancelled or Gary Unaired.

Unlike fellow new Wednesday newcomer Do Not Disturb, which will likely be remember as Do Not Watch, Gary Unmarried could be a dark horse in my opinion.

Unfortunately for Gary Unmarried, in its current timeslot, the only dark horse race it is entering is being the dark horse race for first cancellation on CBS. Poor timeslot with no flow into Christine. ROE would have at least had a built in fanbse to play off the Christine audience. Big Grin

The themes behind both Gary and Christine are very similar (single parents). I think the two are a decent fit for CBS. Yes, CBS should've launched with Rules there as it was somewhat established but I think CBS is afraid they'll learn the Rules audience is nothing more than people watching 2.5 Men waiting to watch CSI:Miami (why they'd wait for that I don't understand but you get my drift). With no other comedies in the hour and no show likely to top 10 million (Bones should pull 9 million), Christine and Gary may just survive. CBS is very unlikely to not give them a chance. They stuck with low rated Kid Nation all fall long. I bet both outdo that in viewers and demo. Do Not Disturb, on the other hand, has gotten less than stellar responses from both Marc and Aaron Barnhardt of tvbarn.com. Til Death (as great as it was last spring) is still no ratings hit and I don't think a Bones lead in will do much. I'm predicting DND gets cancelled and Til Death gets the 7pm Sunday death slot or Friday night treatment (the equivalent of death).

If FOX keeps there midseason schedule the same (which is unlikely) they have Bones, Til Death, and DND moving to Friday's anyways.

Hehe. Love it! Big Grin

I still see Til Death moving to a death slot this midseason unless things really improve (which unfortunately is very unlikely). I would've really liked to have seen the Wed. combo of Back to You, Til Death, and Kitchen Nightmares back this year.

I think this years line-up is stronger then last. I really hope 'Til Death improves. They just need to get rid of the whinny Steph and whatever the principals' name is.
