The one new drama I could see having troubles early on is Viva Laughlin...this is the part drama/part musical show based on a British show (which was pretty good actually)...I don't know if people will get it.
Babylon Fields is a better companion to GW than anything else...

A show that is part musical hasn't been successful in decades.

That line up seems a little to sketchy to be true. I'm very disapointed not to see The Class in there, anyone think it has a shot of replacing Christine midseason? I'm glad to see HIMYM in there though. But I hate seeing Christine and Rules on the lineup.

You're right, but no new comedies when the comedies now are nothing special will hurt them in the future- think NBC. Only the dramas is an even bigger deal for CBS. CSI and its minions are their Friends, Frasier, and Law and Order franchise. quote: Originally posted by Kelly Hughes: Some here are saying this (rumoured) schedule is too safe and predictable, and others are saying viewers won't watch any of these new "non-procedural" dramas. I think that CBS is trying to address perception number 1 by gambling that number 2 isn't true. You don't change a brand overnight. Also, I get a little weary when people constantly throw the term "procedural" around. It sounds like you're getting a colonoscopy. Pick up a Brooks and March. TV has always been full of lawyers, doctors, and yes, cops. If everyone insists on talking about procedurals, let's share the wealth. Let's call American Idol a "singing procedural". (Insert colonoscopy joke here)

They should have moved The Class and Christine to Sats and tried out a new show on Mondays. quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: You're right, but no new comedies when the comedies now are nothing special will hurt them in the future- think NBC. I would've moved em to Wednesday and tried Close to Home on Saturday. quote: Originally posted by xwiseguyx: They should have moved The Class and Christine to Sats and tried out a new show on Mondays. quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: You're right, but no new comedies when the comedies now are nothing special will hurt them in the future- think NBC. CBS seems to hope that Hugh Jackman can transfer his success at the Tonys to a TV show but the Tonys don't get high ratings so VL lasts 2-3 episodes.

People thought that about Jericho. It lasted a whole season and probably longer if CBS hadn't pulled it for the hiatus. quote: Originally posted by GMYERS: quote: Originally posted by xwiseguyx: Well then I guess we're overdue now. I guess I am just underestimating a serialized murder mystery musical on CBS.

Yes, CBS needs to re-invigorate its schedule, but let's remember that the one we're talking about is a fake schedule. Comedies don't work anymore on Saturday. As I mentioned earlier, it's no longer 1973. And yes, Jericho is the kind of the thing that proves that no one knows what will hit and what will flop. It lasted a whole season longer than Smith. If TV execs always knew what would happen, they would only program hits right? Don't forget that ABC turned down CSI.

Not very aggressive at all, but does CBS really need to be aggressive? I see TAR being held as a place filler for either a) in between seasons of Survivor, or B) for when one of their series fails.

What are the odds of The Unit being renewed ? I really do not watch alot of TV but The Unit is a show I make a point of watching and find it interesting and compelling to watch. I'll be extremely disaapointed of The Unit does not come back
