I disagree that Numbers could grow its decreased since last year.

Hasn't all the Friday shows though?

Numb3rs has dropped in part due to Close to Home being cancelled. Whatever CBS does next year, they must put an established show in the Tuesday 10 pm slot.

I have come around to the view that show will be THE UNIT.

They kill several birds this way with the only possible downside some decline for THE UNIT which has seen its best days anyway:

- It keeps a crime drama from having to compete with particularly SVU

- It opens up a chance to build something out of NCIS and get seriously back into the game at 9pm

- It keeps them from the rather silly position of using THE UNIT as a lead in to a new show when they have several better choices

All valid points Bruce. The Unit does drop the viewers out of NCIS though, and it very well could suffer a similar fate to all of CBS' recent Tuesday 10 pm failures.

It will drop at 10pm but not as much as the likes of Cane and Smith. 9 million and a high 2 in the demo will keep it around for a while at this point. Of course, I'm holding out hope that Jericho finds some viewers there.

If I was CBS, or any net for that matter, when everything is back up to full production, I would not have a single encore or repeat episode of anything until June.

And that includes Saturdays. Throw Power of 10, 1 v 100, etc... on that night. The viewers need wall to wall NEW episodes for the last 4-6 weeks or so

If you thought they had holes now, this would result in lower numbers for sure on Fridays and maybe even Sundays. No way a new drama could handle the constant NFL overruns.

Well 1 vs. 100 is NBC, but I agree. Saturdays could also be reairings of the made for TV movies. They would do no worse in the demo and potentially strengthen the overall Saturday viewership.

Monday
8-How I Meet Your Mother
8:30- Big Bang Theory
9-2.5 Men
9:30- Rules of Engagement
10-CSI MIAMI

[It was doing great in '07]

Tuesday-
8-NCIS
9-Unit
10-Numbers
[Perhaps Numbers can break the Judging Amy curse]

Wednesday-
8- Welcome to the Captain (NEW TIME)
8:30- Old Christine (NEW TIME)
9-Criminal Minds
10-CSI NY
[Forget Kid Nation, try sitcoms, King of Queens worked here.]

Thursday-
8-Survivor
9-CSI
10-Without a Trace
[CBS's holy trinity]

Friday-
8- Ghost Whisper
9- Moonlight
10- ELEVENTH HOUR (NEW SERIES)
[I think we can experiment here.]

Sunday-
7-60 Min
8- Jericho (NEW TIME) / Amazing Race
9-Cold Case
10- Shark
[A serial drama like Jericho I think could work at this earlier time and if the ratings aren't good, then no need to pick up the back 9 (or 13) after Amazing Race, try something new again.]

Old Christine or Jericho (if the ratings aren't good) can be replace if any amazing pilots come through. But with Bruckheimer and Littman behind 11TH HOUR, I can see the pickup already.

Jericho I doubt will be making any huge impact on the Network for a Season 3 renewal. Season 2 was more just a generous gesture to fans to have closure.

As for the Tuesday at 10pm Slot I think it needs a strong leading female Drama to be able to break the curse. NUMB3RS just isn't that show to break that curse. Cold Case or Ghost Whisperer might be able to though.

I honestly don't know which projects are still alive at the eye. Hopefully, I didn't goof and try to schedule a dead one.

No-brainer cancellations are everything not listed here, with the exception of "Old Christine," which I'm on the fence about. I don't know what to do with "Swingtown." Me and CBS both, probably. It shouldn't be on the fall schedule, though -- that I'm sure of.

SUN
7:00 60 Minutes
8:00 The Amazing Race / MILLION DOLLAR PASSWORD (new show)
9:00 Cold Case
10:00 Shark

MON
8:00 How I Met Your Mother
8:30 Rules of Engagement (new time)
9:00 Two and a Fifth Men
9:30 The Big Bang Theory (new time)
10:00 CSI: Miami

TUE
8:00 NCIS
9:00 The Unit
10:00 FLASHPOINT (new show)

WED
8:00 THE MAN (new show)
9:00 Criminal Minds
10:00 CSI: NY

THU
8:00 Survivor / JINGLES (new show)
9:00 CSI
10:00 Without a Trace

FRI
8:00 Breast Whisperer
9:00 THE MEANT TO BE's (new show)
10:00 Numb3rs

SAT
8:00 Encores/Movies
9:00 Encores/Movies
10:00 48 Hours

Oh, God, if I were running CBS, that would be the first thing dumped. Doesn't even have to be about the ratings. It's just an awful, awful show.

I'm not, and I'm sure they'll can "Shark" before they'll can it, but at least James Woods can act.

I think it's smart rearranging the comedies and moving the two older skewing ones to Sunday, but I wonder if Sundays after Cold Case is the right spot for The Man.

If CBS wants to dump it, I think the CW would be more than willing to take it.
