Whats gna happen with this oh so funny comedy!! I Bet theyre gna air it during Reruns of two and a half Men, and then When Worst week is Done airing, put it after New episodes of "Men". Why Havent They announced Anything???
My guess as to CBS's silence on the return of "Rules of Engagement" is due to the network not knowing exactly where it will air when it does return.
It can be assumed that "Rules" would air in the post-"Two and a Half Men" slot on Mondays. However, CBS seems to be rather high on the Wednesday comedy "Gary Unmarried", even giving that freshman comedy a shot at the post-"Men" slot earlier in the season (granted, it was a repeat of "Gary's" pilot episode). Since the post-"Men" slot is the most visible, high profile slot that CBS currently has for a comedy, the network may want to move "Gary" into the spot in the spring.
According to The Futon Critic, both "Worst Week" and "Gary" will have aired 11 new episodes by the end of December. That leaves "Week" with only 5 episodes, but "Gary" would still have 9 new episodes, and possibly 11 (if the two additional scripts CBS ordered are made into episodes). Although I cannot find definite confirmation, one can assume that "Rules", being a midseason replacement, has a 13 episode order.
With that in mind, beginning in mid-February, CBS could move "Gary" to Mondays and run "Rules" on Wednesday with virtually no interruption for either series.
I agree, Jay. I think it's best for them to move Gary after 2.5 Men and to pair RoE with Christine on Wednesday. By doing that, CBS would be giving Gary its best possible chance of growing while also airing repeat-free programming against AI.
