Well it continues to lose overall viewers. I'd say it will be a modest hit for them but the nostalgia has worn off quickly.

Reality Show saturation is taking effect here.

I agree. I think that's why Big Brother may also have a hard time here soon and I don't expect any miracles with NBC's yet to premiere reality/gameshows this spring.

I still can not understand why NBC chose to air the finale of AG on a Sunday night at 7:00. I am sure that if they had aired in its regular Monday night spot the numbers would have approached 10-11 million and a 4.5 demo.

Um judging by the three previous Monday telecasts, I doubt it. The show was popular at first due to nostalgia. Now people are realizing its really not that exciting week after week.

Actually if you discount the 1st episode (debut numbers are generally higher but rarely ever remain that high) and the last episode (NBC obviously made a huge mistake by putting the finale on a Sunday night at 7PM), the numbers were quite steady. If NBC could get 9 million out of this show I think they would be very pleased. There are not many shows on TV that get that many viewers. Plus the demo rating was solid.

NBC is bringing this show back in May for a pre Olympic run, and then I imagine it will be back again in January for another run.

Seven seasons--but in syndication and a variety of weekend slots, not necessarily prime time.

What was NBC thinking?

Rule of thumb: Stuff that does well against nothing will not necessarily do well against real competition.

2nd Rule of thumb: NBC is in a complete and udder disaster mode right now thanks to their inability to have midseason programming in reserves. Hell, they knew they were in trouble. Why not expand this year on shows like Lipstick Jungle, etc.

NBC must be shocked at the dismal numbers for AG. This show started off so promising in January. I wonder if the numbers will improve next week with the competition gone. I am guessing there might be a small spike, but not much. They probably should have waited for the premiere until everything else was over.
