Now that the Lemon Awards are over, it's time to judge shows in a more positive light.
In honor of the upcoming Major League Baseball World Series, here is a bracket based on shows most UNDERRATED.
The "winning" show will be have the distinction of being PIFeedback.com's MOST UNDERRATED SHOW OF THE YEAR! And you could help determine this!
I've determined the seedings of the show to be simply based on its average-per-episode viewership. Here are the set seedings:
1. Without a Trace (CBS) 2. NCIS (CBS) 3. Shark (CBS) 4. Criminal Minds (CBS) 5. Cold Case (CBS) 6. So You Think You Can Dance (FOX) 7. Close To Home (CBS) 8. Bones (FOX) 9. Boston Legal (ABC) 10. Numb3rs (CBS) 11. Supernanny (ABC) 12. Hell's Kitchen (FOX) 13. New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) 14. Medium (NBC) 15. Brothers and Sisters (ABC) 16. King of Queens (CBS) 17. How I Met Your Mother (CBS) 18. Biggest Loser (NBC) 19. Big Brother 8 (CBS) 20. Jericho (CBS) 21. 1 vs. 100 (NBC) 22. Men In Trees (ABC) 23. 'Til Death (FOX) 24. Wife Swap (ABC) 25. Raines (NBC) 26. My Boys (TBS) 36. The Sarah Silverman Program (CMDY)
You can vote on which show in each matchup is underrated.
For this first week, the top 28 seeds get a one-week bye for the first week is labeled the Play-In Week.
Between #2 seed NCIS (CBS) and the #8 seed Bones (FOX), the show this forum has chosen as 'most underrated' of the 2006-07 season is...
Bones FOX)
This poll took place from September 16, 2007 to October 30, 2007.

So when you say "underrated," who is doing the "rating"? Are we talking about the best show relative to viewership, or the best show relative to buzz? Are we voting for "more people should be watching this show" or "more people in the media should be talking about this show"? Or should we just keep voting for which show we like better, so this becomes a question of which show out of these 36 is the most popular?
I assume it must be some combination, as a lot of high-viewer, low-buzz shows aren't in the field (I'm thinking stuff like CSI:Miami, CSI:NY, and Deal or No Deal) and a lot of low-viewer, high-buzz shows aren't in the field (most notably all of NBC Thursday, and everything on HBO and Showtime). The only show in the field that's pretty high-buzz is Friday Night Lights (and maybe Brothers and Sisters), but CBS viewer juggernauts are all over the place, so I guess it's a buzz thing.
Anyway, sorry to get all dorky, I was just curious about how you went about selecting this field and what you think the criteria should be.
My votes: #36 Sarah Silverman - I pretty much hate both shows, so I just went with the show fewer people are watching. #30 Psych - Love both shows, but I think Psych's a lot better and actually gets a little less press overall. #31 Reba - This one may end up going deep for me. I've watched some of it in syndication and think it's a real classic. #32 Supernatural - Haven't really seen either one, but Supernatural is closer to my type of show.
Count me as another viewer that doesn't quite understand the criteria that was used here. If a cancelled clunker like Reba can make the list why isn't Raines on the list. It was a superior show that was vastly underrated/ignored. Similiarly, if high rated shows like NCIS make the list, why not a show like ER? ER is very underrated because so few people seem to recognize that the characters and plotlines have changed over the years.
In any case, My votes were as follows: #36 Sarah Silverman - Not a big fan of this show, but it is slightly more watcheable than Beauty and the Geek. #30 My Boys - I watch both shows off and on, but My Boys is more compelling than the generic Psych. #31 The Riches - I've never seen The Riches, but I have seen Reba. Reba isn't interesting, original, or anything else worth tuning in for. #32 Girlfriends - Girlfriends is one of the best half hour shows on television. It combines the 'sitcom' with real 3 dimensional characters rather than just the 'one-liner' characters found in most sitcoms.
The criteria was that I did some research in this forum and saw the "underrated" term attached to the aforementioned shows. The seeds are based on their viewership: "Without A Trace" is the most-watched program of the 36, "Sarah Silverman Show" is the least-watched (just over a million viewers per episode in its first season).
Obveeus, I did go back-and-forth in my head, whether or not to include "Raines" on the list. From what you wrote, and also the few episodes I had seen of "Raines", I will decide to include it in the next round and take off "Power of 10". I like "Power of 10" and I know it's a game show but compared to "Raines", "Raines" has a better chance of winning a matchup or two in this poll.
Therefore, the seeds will adjust to this ("Raines" averaged just over 6 million per episode last season, seeding it behind "Wife Swap" but ahead of the 8:30 version of "Old Christine"):
18. Big Brother 8 (CBS) 19. 1 vs. 100 (NBC) 20. Men In Trees (ABC) 21. 'Til Death (FOX) 22. Wife Swap (ABC) 23. Raines (NBC) 24. New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) 25. Friday Night Lights (NBC) 26. America's Most Wanted (FOX) 27. Cops (FOX) 28. Friday Night Smackdown (CW)

Raines was definitely the best cancelled new show from last season. Power of 10 is a good show to remove since nothing seems underrated about it. It gets plenty of ratings and people singing its praises...even though it is just another excrutiatingly slow gameshow.
I forgot about this show. I never saw the series but it definitely has its fans. Thanks for mentioning it, Elvis Bus!
So, I'm getting rid of "Friday Night Smackdown" now because that's really a show like "WWE Raw" on USA and I don't have Raw on here. "Smackdown" does well on its own but underrated vs. "Jericho"? "Jericho" may actually win a matchup in the next round.
This is why I tweak some stuff and don't play all the shows as part of the poll immediately, as I learned from adding "Veronica Mars" late into the bracket for Overrated shows back in March, even though it fit in okay.
Therefore, the seeds will adjust to this ("Jericho" averaged just under 8 million per episode, which includes the new and repeat episodes of last season, seeding it behind "Big Brother" but ahead of "1 vs. 100"):
18. Big Brother 8 (CBS) 19. Jericho (CBS) 20. 1 vs. 100 (NBC) 21. Men In Trees (ABC) 22. 'Til Death (FOX) 23. Wife Swap (ABC) 24. Raines (NBC) 25. New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) 26. Friday Night Lights (NBC) 27. America's Most Wanted (FOX) 28. Cops (FOX)

It was 'Underrated' when it was cancelled, and I guess it's 'Overratted' when it got un-cancelled.
"Raines" was definietly the best of all and NBC killed it.

Because I forgot to factor in the viewership of episodes earlier in the 2006-07 season of King of Queens, How I Met Your Mother, and Old Christine into their season average, the top 25 seeds have now adjusted to this (again, these post-premiere adjustments are the reason I don't play every show in the bracket in the game's first week!):
1. Without a Trace (CBS) 2. NCIS (CBS) 3. Shark (CBS) 4. Criminal Minds (CBS) 5. Cold Case (CBS) 6. So You Think You Can Dance (FOX) 7. Close To Home (CBS) 8. Bones (FOX) 9. Boston Legal (ABC) 10. Numb3rs (CBS) 11. Supernanny (ABC) 12. Hell's Kitchen (FOX) 13. New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) 14. Medium (NBC) 15. Brothers and Sisters (ABC) 16. King of Queens (CBS) 17. How I Met Your Mother (CBS) 18. Biggest Loser (NBC) 19. Big Brother 8 (CBS) 20. Jericho (CBS) 21. 1 vs. 100 (NBC) 22. Men In Trees (ABC) 23. 'Til Death (FOX) 24. Wife Swap (ABC) 25. Raines (NBC)
