Let the 3rd annual Awards for TV's worst commence
To recognize those whose acting's so dense
The general roles are those composing this fleet
Doctors, lawyers and teens who won't eat...

For those in their 20s who pretend they are younger
Would rather act wooden and go starving with hunger
The CW's viewer is typically a girl
But with their roster of shows, even she'd run & hurl
Last October, twas a Capital from Media Rights
Viewers took one look and soon thought "this bites!"
From One Tree and Gossip to 9-0-2-1-No
"No acting required" were their status quo

On other nets, no job has ever been overused
Than the job of a cop who inadvertently amused
Especially the police that air Mondays at 10
Caruso & Fillion lead the acting men
Hot lady crime solvers with brains not so thick
Portrayed by Sanchez, Tamblyn, and Katic
As well as the Miami's girls, including Procter
Will now have to beat any Anatomy's doctor!

Fantasy did not escape the Lemon Awards reach
Dolls with no ratings and Heroes: Peacock's leech
Kilmer as KITT, with Bruening and Russo
NBC also failed with Kings and Crusoe

CBS flirted with a List full of Ex-es
Flopping so bad, like Harper's Island hexes
And speaking of a show that's more horror than mystery
Shipping it to Saturday means it's about to be history
With dialogue so bland, slop has more flavor
Its acting as stiff as Glau and Kim Raver

While Miley's antics recently were featured in a movie
The acting police were called to request she be in Juvie
She seems to be everywhere, much like horse manure
And here, her 2 nods prove her acting's amateur

Comedies won't fare as well as they should
As execs won't learn single-cams are no good
When it comes to laughs, the pickings are slim
Or non-existent, like Kath & Kim!
We can kick them to the curb, like Do Not Disturb
Or deem them stupid, like ABC's Cupid

Now these shows must take a certain path
Which is downward and backward, for they incurred wrath
Our revenge must be sweet for TV to take note
Let's give 'em some Lemons by placing our vote!

This is only the first of the Lemons' two parts
To voice your displeasure and express all your smarts
In mid-June, there will be more to anticipate
But from now until then, feel free to participate!

Please re-input your picks for now the poll is correct. Thanks for notifying me of the mistake. Also, it gave me a chance to include one category I almost forgot about: Lifetime Un-Achievement Award.

I appreciate all the work you do on these games, Douglas, but I think this one would benefit from a public nomination process. I don't understand some of these nominations at all. The ones for the shows are good, but the acting categories are all just the same low-rated shows over and over again, with Grey's, WAT and CSI Miami thrown in for good measure. I've never even heard of 90% of these people.

I would say that Robin Tunney is a lead, not supporting, ditto for Thomas Dekker. Isn't David Spade the star of ROE (I've never seen it), not supporting? And Crusoe was not a scifi/fantasy show, it was a period drama. It did suck though. Wink

The poll won't take my entry unless all categories are filled, so my whole entry will be a write-in vote.

Worst Drama: Harper's Island
Worst Comedy: Surviving Suburbia
Worst New Show: Surviving Suburbia
Worst Hit Show: LOST
Worst Actor in a Drama: David Caruso (CSI Miami)
Worst Actor in a Comedy: Bob Saget (Surviving Suburbia)
Worst Actress in a Drama: Rose Byrne (Damages)
Worst Actress in a Comedy: Amy Poehler (Parks & Rec)
Worst Supporting Actor in a Drama: Tahmoh Penikett (BSG, Dollhouse)
Worst Supporting Actor in a Comedy: Jere Burns (Surviving Suburbia)
Worst Supporting Actress in a Drama: Olivia Wilde (House)
Worst Supporting Actress in a Comedy: Kaley Cuoco (BBT)*
Worst Scifi/Fantasy show: Knight Rider
Lifetime Un-achievement Award: Jerry Sienfeld, unless I can write in Bob Saget

*I've never seen BBT, but I had no entry for this category and I can still smell the stench of her from Charmed. How bad do you have to be to stink up Charmed even more than it already was???

Some actors should not be there. Just because some shows are awful is doesn't mean ALL the actors of said shows are awful as well. Sophia Bush is great and Katie Kassidy is fine in HI. Ed Westwick is good too.

Is it too late to reset the poll?

Lisa Rinna really needs to be nominated for the Lifetime Un-Achievement Award!

I probably should've been more forward in promoting some suggestions into the PIFC Fan Appreciation thread. Only fangs1972 ever suggested anything on the forum. But I did get a lot of input from the forum members who visit the TV Talk chat room too (TV-aholic, tvfan300, xwiseguyx, mushu_jj, College Basketball Fan, and the Programming Insider himself!) You can suggest for Lemons Part 2, which includes Reality shows, Reality/Game Show participants, Reality/Game Show hosts, Guest stars, Season Finales, and Worst TV couple.

I've never before including the CW folk til this season. And of course I mention those actors over and over again... because they deserve it! And I don't use whether or not I know them as a criteria for nominations. Other award shows do this too. For example, name the Oscar winner for Best Actress in 2008 for the year of film of 2007? If you saw her walking on the street, you still would not know her, even if I mention her name AND face!

You may have a point there. Maybe it's me, but for T:SCC, I always considered the Terminators themselves as the leads! Smiler

I would label Patrick Warburton as the actual lead.

Not bad. The acting on Charmed was very bad but I enjoyed that series very much. By the time Cuoco joined the show, though, the series had past its prime.

True, which is why I left off Fey and Baldwin for 30 Rock.

Sophia Bush is great...
I, along with others, beg to differ

She LOOKS fine but certainly doesn't act fine.

Ed Westwick is good too.
Does this guy even know how to emote? It's all one-note with his role - always sleazy and his monotone way of speech. I will admit he is a good villain on the show.

You looked at my list for several days before I posted it online. If you had mentioned it to me then, I'd have included her. 'Til next season, I guess.

If you don't know who they are, how do you know they are bad? I just feel that it would be more interesting to pick some of the dead weight from shows that people actually watch on a regular basis.

Without looking, I would say that it was Marianne Cotillard (sp?), for La Vie En Rose. But you are correct, I doubt I'd recognise her if she were walking down the street, but her peers (who nominated her) would.

Point me in the right direction please.

You credited me with some things that another poster said. I just want to clarify to you, the world, and any possible extra-terrestrial lifeforms, that I absolutely never, ever defended Katie Cassidy's acting 'talent'. Although she was still a better Ruby than the one they came up with this year. Where do they get these girls? We need a special bad-casting Lemon award just for Supernatural.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I love the poem. Big Grin Did you write that?

ps. I liked Charmed too. So bad, and yet so fun.

Sorry. I should clarify what I meant to state then - I don't use whether or not the majority of TV viewers know them as a criteria for nominations. Plus, I've seen every single show and performance listed above - I just had to look up some of their names on IMDb.

You can suggest in this thread or in my original place for suggestions, the PIFC Fan Appreciation thread.

You're right. That was metal who stated that stuff about Miss Cassidy. Sorry.

Nice. Smiler

Yes, I did. I woke up late Saturday and had the idea to do a poem instead of just several paragraphs introducing the nominees. Took me all of just 2-3 hours to think that all up. Thank you for the compliment.

Right. CW tried to imitate it with this season's Valentine, but we soon knew how that went!
