The gist of the article is that the relationship between NBC and iTunes has deteriorated, because NBC wants to charge more for their episodes on iTunes.

Could be yet another disaster in the making for NBC if they don't get this worked out. iTunes has been key to the popularity of shows like Heroes and especially The Office. Although the article suggests that Apple needs NBC more than NBC needs Apple. Will be interesting to see how this plays out...

And why is Dougie Zucker still at NBC?

NBC needs to focus on finding shows people actually want to watch before they start worrying about iTunes downloads. Besides, anyone with a brain knows you can obtain episodes of just about any show not on the network websites through the other downloading sites.

Doesn't NBC realize they can't give away their programs for free on primetime television?

A lot. At $4.99 an ep, though, I imagine a lot more people would go the illegal route.

I'm not sure who would buy a tv show for 5 dollars.

I wonder if all of this is related to NBC and Fox's new Hulu venture? $4.99 an ep is a bit steep.

The Office, Heroes, 30 Rock, and the three L&Os have shown up on amazon.com's Unbox . Price per episode is $1.99! Roll Eyes

So I guess the whole iTunes thing was just bad PR (at least until NBC makes another move). Par for the course, NBC.

That's why you record/DVR it. I can't ever see myself paying for individual eps of a show.
