My theory on why they were planning on doing the next edition in Chicago was that they were just going to act it out for xwiseguyx in his living room.

Yeah!!! The thought of live theatrical productions at my place is a wonderful one and we would save a lot of money by not having to go out.

I watch The Apprentice, too. It's not as good as the earlier seasons, but it's an entertaining hour nonetheless.

This schedule is a mess, an uninspired, unaggressive mess. I honestly believe Zucker will be out after this. I want to work at NBC. Some thoughts:

Chuck? ...a "one-hour, comedic, spy-thriller?" That sounds like Andy Barker, P.I. with an extra half-hour.

I'm glad NBC is not moving Heroes.

My Name is Earl followed by 30 Rock? They really are trying to breed 30 Rock into being the next Office.

I'm glad 1 vs. 100 is renewed.

Why can't Friday Night Lights and Las Vegas be switched?

Isn't Law & Order being on at the 8PM hour WAY too early? Pairing it with Dateline is smart, though.

I really wish Medium got that post-Heroes slot. Journeymen better not be too complicated or viewers will reject it.

Just read a story that states that Fred Thompson may be gone from "Law & Order" next season, even if he does NOT run for President.

He was diagnosed with cancer recently, right?

Excerpt from Hollywood Reporter:

Reilly handed out death sentences to several NBC series including "Crossing Jordan," "Raines" and "Identity." But he stopped short of canceling "The Apprentice" even though it was not on the schedule. "We haven't made a decision," said Reilly, who expects to revisit "Apprentice" after upfront week to see if a spot can be cleared on the schedule. "Donald (Trump) still wants to do it, (executive producer) Mark (Burnett) wants to do it."

He also held out the possibility Trump could come back in a different format."We want to stay in business in Donald with whatever form it takes," he said. "The guy has a certain magic."

Great SW!! I still have some hope for The Apprentice. I will hold off on clearing off the extra space in my living room for now... If the show does make it back on the air, I am hoping Marc will lead the re-enactments for me in my living room. Many of you on the board are also welcome to participate as well. I think this will help bring The Apprentice back to the forefront both on this board and in the ratings.

If you read between the lines in the Hollywood Reporter excerpt, it sounds as though they might be planning a shuffle of the current schedule after the other nets' upfronts.

I agree with everybody who says the schedule is dull and lacks assertion.

The big problem I see for NBC is Thursdays. If they don't fix this up immediately, ER will die and take The Office and possibly Earl along with it. NBC need to forget about comedy night done right and move 30 Rock and Scrubs to less high profile/competitive timeslots. Deal or No Deal would be great again on Thursdays at 9/8c or even 8/7c, with Earl and Office at 9/8c.

NBC look like they haven't learnt anything at all with regards to the 10/9c Monday slot. They should have moved an established drama into the slot, not launch a brand new series.

1 vs. 100 seems to be disliked by the network. Is it difficult to make or something? The idea of them just rotating the game shows on Fridays is a bit of a joke, keep 1 vs. 100 there it does well.

Lipstick Jungle should be launched in the fall, it is one of NBC's shows that are generating some buzz.

Medium is as good as gone, it won't handle it against Desperate Housewives and needs to stay in a 10/9c slot somewhere.

NBC should make Biggest Loser a summer show, it just can't cut it in primetime. The season finales are the only part of the show that actually rates well.

I agree. To me, a second night of 1 vs. 100 would be better than Biggest Loser.

You would think, but DH is on quite a decline.

If I were in charge of scheduling or the head of NBC, I would absolutely listen to this website and others to see what people are saying. I don't think there's enough of a bridge between the two.

Marc could you give us some insight on what all happened? What shows look good? What stars were touted before the crowd?

I'm not surprised.

NBC probably doesn't have the budget to put on a good presentation.

Well what do you expect form the network. They thought last year that at this time they would have made a major comeback. They are probably now depressed from the ratings. I just hope that next year someone will overtake CBS. Hopefully NBC's comeback is near!

Sadly I doubt it. I bet ABC will overtake CBS! They seem to be really smart this year...Well so far, except in the sitcom department.
