According to 30 Rock and Scrubs' page on NBCUMV, they are swoping timeslots with eachother as of April 24. So it's:

8 - Earl
8:30 - Scrubs
9 - The Office
9:30 - 30 Rock

I'm guessing NBC are trying to give 30 Rock the best lead in they can instead of it being wasted on Scrubs which is (probably) moving to ABC anyway.

This will likely help 30 Rock, but it will hurt ER as 30 Rock is the weakest of the NBC sitcoms.

I don't think ER will get any lower than it already has gotten.

30 Rock seems to be viewers bug spray. Anything around it goes down in viewers.

I think these are better fits. This is what I suggested from the beginning when they were considering having The Office anchor an hour.

But while these are better fits, none of the 4 8-10pm shows really fit together which is not surprising since each show was clearly an attempt to do something very different.

This is an entirely different ballgame than matching up the CBS comedies, for example, which has proven somewhat difficult to do anyway.

I've been warming to THE OFFICE lately. A few interesting characters and some funny and delicate moments, maybe not even watching every week. Is there any hope that a show like this could pick up a niche of casual viewers and reach greater aud levels that way than having to "convert" people?

A smarter change NBC could have done:

TUESDAY
8 - 9:30 p.m. "The Biggest Loser: Couples"
9:30 - 10 p.m. "30 Rock"
10 - 11 p.m.: "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"

THURSDAY
8 - 8:30 p.m. "My Name Is Earl"
8:30 - 9 p.m. "THE OFFICE SPINOFF"
9 - 9:30 p.m. "The Office"
9:30 - 10 p.m. "KATH & KIM"
10 - 11 p.m.: "ER"/"The Celebrity Apprentice"



and just became I keep demanding it...

MONDAY
8 - 9 p.m.: "Chuck"
9 - 10 p.m.: "Heroes"
10 - 11 p.m.: "Medium"

SPY-FI/DRAMMEDY + SCI-FI/ACTION + SCI-FI/CRIME-DRAMA = SUCCESS

Guess I'll be watching 30 Rock and recording Survivor now.

Notice that himymfan22's favorite show is Scrub. So that makes sense for him to watch Scrub, The Office, and 30 Rock. I personally like the switch so I can get home later and won't miss The Office and 30 Rock.

With that name, I thought his favorite show must be How I Met Your Mother.

When there is both a half hour show and a 1 hour show on at the same time that I want to watch, I always record the half hour show. If you record the 1 hour show, then you are sitting around for half an hour with nothing to do...except chores, I suppose. Ick.
