Am I really the only one in America that thinks the show Heroes is extremely overrated? Maybe I'm just not into the whole real life anime thing.

Cancel Vegas? Renew FNL. I get the whole budget thing and stuff.. but.. really? Renew the show that caused the other show to get canceled. I don't get it.

Office. Great show. Love it. No complaints.

30 Rock? are you kidding me?

ER? I don't get it. I guess the network needs a name show. Ratings are dropping and I bet they will continue to drop.

Knight Rider. Why? Acting is terrible. The show looks terrible. The ratings for the first episode of the new year will be terrible. Everything about this show is terrible.

Alright, my rant is done. I'm sure I've got more sh*t to say about NBC, but I'm just really sleep.

First, I agree that NBC makes some of the worst decissions of any network (including the CW). But Heroes is a good show. Now, Heroes second season was not nearly as good as the first season and its short rund is the one GOOD thing about the writers strike. But what is not to like about people finding out there have super powers? Hopefully the writers and producers wil take a lesson from how bad season two was and make season 3 that much better.

Las Vegas should be cancelled, but so should FNL, 30 Rock, Scrubs, and a couple of others.

NBC is just a mess.

I agree that Las Vegas, Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock should be cancelled and that Knight Rider should not become a show. Whats with all the remakes over at NBC? Have they not learned from Bionic Women?

Anyways, what happened to the good old comedies on NBC? Not the stupid single camera ones and the ones that suck (all of them) I want a show like Friends or Will and Grace again. Those comedies were good, the new ones are just dreadful. I hope NBC is learning.

Comedies with no audience seem to do poor in ratings:
1. Notes from the Underbelly
2. Scrubs
3. 30 Rock
4. Welcome to the Captain

Some exceptions:
1. The Office
2. Samantha Who? (After DWTS)

Hey networks, here's a thought: STOP MAKING COMEDIES LIKE THIS!

Comedies with audiences that do well:
1. CBS Comedies (With the exception of WTTC)
2. Any others?

I guess I'm in disagreement here, yeah I believe that NBC is a mess, but I guess the support all the critics that love The Office, 30 Rock, My Name Is Earl, Friday Night Lights, and Heroes, and I'm glad that they'll all return. NBC may not have quantity with ratings anymore but they do have some quality shows (awards and nominations prove that).

Though I dont think Knight Rider should be made into a series because that tv movie was dreadful and I dont see why ER is returning for a full 22 episodes. And as for Las Vegas being cancelled... I dont think some realize how expensive that series was, especially for having the largest set (the casino) on television. And it had a good run, long enough for it to into syndication (well, it already is).

And I dont think NBC will keep Scrubs; its been advertised as its final season since the fall. And if they do, that would be a dumb move on their part. If ABC wants it, just let them have it.

And NBC does have a lot of crappy reality shows for the summer, but they probably have the fullest schedule, more than any other network and I wouldnt be surprised if they did well (especially when it all leads up the Olympics). Not only that, they have more scripted dramas and comedies that have been ordered to pilots or series, then any other network; so I think they'll be fine.

At last count NBC was #2 for the season in 18-49. So I assume you believe that CBS and ABC are also "messes"?

NBC is probably high because of the three episodes a week of Deal or No Deal.

NBC is barely #2 because of the Writers Strike.

It let loose all of its guns in January & February just to be UP to ABC and CBS.

By the end of April, they'll be back in fourth, again, and the gap will be fairly large by the end of May.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does NBC, or any other network for that matter, notice that the highest rated comedies are MULTI CAMERA, LAUGH TRACK ones?!?!?!

It is so irritating that NBC just thinks they should keep doing this single cam, crappy acting crap where I have no idea when to laugh.

Just wait until Deal or No Deal goes below 10 million per week because everyone is sick of it.

Roll Eyes

When I watch a comedy I laugh when something is funny. If you need a laugh track to tell when to laugh, then apparently there is a problem. Either the show is simply not funny, and you are just trained to laugh when the laugh track goes off, or you just don't get the humor (which is fine).

If you don't like the style of the NBC comedies, then fine. But to say you simply need a laugh track so you know when to laugh is really an silly comment.

I completely agree. And its ok if you dont like NBC comedies, but you cant say they're bad comedies either ...they're just not your thing. The Office and 30 Rock have both won Emmys for Best Comedy, while they've been nominated for numerous amounts of other awards, along with Scrubs and My Name Is Earl.

Also, not all multicamera comedies do well: Til Death, Back to You, According To Jim, etc. The way comedies were done back then and the way they're done today are completely different. Especially when you have hour longs, like Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, or even Chuck, considered to be comedies.

This was gone over already a while ago, and the fact is, the average American needs a laugh track to know when to laugh.

Like everyone's been saying, we, on this board, do not represent the average American. That's quite obvious.

I dont think it matters if they won Emmy's, nobody really seems to be watching them. Point is NBC just needs to go back to its old comedies. Til Death doesnt do that bad. Til Death brings in around 6 million and when you have the terrible Back to You's ratings, it hurts Back to You. My opinion is that Til Death is much funnier then Back to You.

NBC has tried multicams since Friends ended: Twenty Good Years, Teachers, Joey, Committed, and Four Kings; all which did poorly in the end; My Name Is Earl premiered with over 15 million viewers, The Office is doing well, and they're trying to get 30 Rock up along with those shows.

So if single camera comedies work for them, they should stick with them. I personally think ABC should stick with hour long dramedies, like Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty, CBS should stick with multicams, and FOX and CW... they should just keep trying (though FOX does well with animated comedies).
