Interesting strategy on the part of NBC...If you cant match the other networks try to bring them down to 2.3 in the demo. The fact that NBC would kill to have even one of these shows makes this all the more ironic. Love the way how they are complaining that CSI has too many spinoffs while conveniently not mentioning the Law & Order franchise.
How ironic this is indeed! Personally, I love the NBC flop. I never watched them in their "hit" years. Jeff Zucker was just awful for the network and did nothing to improve the quality. Even ABC in its dark period was more entertaining imo. I mean who needed 3 repeats of Friends a week and 4 repeats of the L&O Franchise? Now NBC claims they are the quality network that their ratings are trash. While this season initially showed signs of improvement, horrible midseason strategies that left veterans in bad timeslots like Crossing Jordan and Medium, not to mention the downright dumb decisions to keep Studio 60 on Monday and end both Las Vegas and 1 vs. 100 early put NBC right back at the bottom.
ABC as a network has almost always took risks with its series and dramas (except during the Millionaire period); NBC has not. ABC's risk taking paid off huge in 04/05 with Lost, DH, GA and DWTS all storming out of the gate. NBC has Heroes. It really needs to take a page from how ABC was reborn in 2004.
