What you say of MEDIUM is largely true (except NBC doesn't care about its syndication), and I'm glad somebody else has reached the realization that this pairing with HEROES may be nothing more than an old idea.

That said, with its current ratings as of today, I believe MEDIUM is beating the game and will stick around. Right now, I would say a fall airing is unlikely. But with NBC's sketchy record of developing hits and shows like CHUCK and LIFE having somewhat problematic futures, the cancellation of MEDIUM is highly unlikely. Its ability to perform decently two years in a row as a midseason replacement may well cement it into that role.

I smell either Friday or midseason Sunday in this show's future and that's really unfortunate if you ask me. NBC should be focusing on keeping Monday stable next year. Airing a Chuck, Heroes, Medium Monday would be good imo. Keep this night stable and focus on improving other nights. On Tuesday I say go with Biggest Loser at 8 and then a new drama at 9 or vice versa and leave SVU at 10. Wednesdays should be new drama or a pair of comedies (if they pick up enough of them and or Scrubs) and then DOND and Law and Order: Original Flavor. Thursdays can be a 2 hour comedy block and then the final eps of ER airing non-stop with a new drama that is more male skewing and youthful taking over 10pm come midseason. Fridays can be 1 vs. 100, Life, and maybe another new drama so we will end up with 2 to 3 new dramas next fall depending on the comedy situation. Then on Sundays come midseason, go with Dateline (which could also fill at least an hour on Saturdays), Friday Night Lights, Celebrity Apprentice, and Criminal Intent repeats. Either a new gameshow or another reality show can replace Biggest Loser at midseason for 6 weeks or so with another edition geared up for March. American Gladiators, additional airings of DOND, and other midseason fair can replace repeats of Chuck and Heroes come March (I would air those seasons straight through with Medium taking a break in January for a new drama and returning in March to air out remaining eps).
