The late great Brandon Tartikoff must be spinning in his grave over the current state of affairs at NBC. Just when you thought Jeff Zucker and Co. couldn’t drag this once proud and popular network further into the ratings cellar, comes word of this “re-packaging” deal with USA Network.
With “Psych” and “Monk” taking their place on faltering NBC’s Sunday line-up in March, the Peacock net will have more than 10% of its line-up made up of USA Network reruns (including former NBC series “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and discounting the three hours of NBC programming on Saturdays). That percentage of series shown on NBC that originated elsewhere swells even more when the MySpace series “quarterlife” is factored in.
At this rate, Zucker, Silverman, etc. could see NBC place closer to the CW or My Network TV than to either ABC, CBS, or Fox.
Lastly, here are some programming ideas for “boy genius” Ben Silverman: how about transplanting “WWE Raw” from USA. Expand it to three hours and your entire Monday schedule is set. Sticking with wrestling, you could move Sci-Fi Channel’s “ECW” to NBC and pair it up with the bloated two-hour “Biggest Loser”. Tuesday is set too now. She is the world’s first supermodel, and she has an ego to match that of Donald Trump’s. Pair up Oxygen’s “Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” with “Celebrity Apprentice”. With those two egomaniacs, Thursday is all ready to go. Ben, keep the sophomore gamer “1 vs. 100” on Fridays, but pair it up with the Sci-Fi dramas “Stargate: Atlantis” and “Flash Gordon”, or classic episodes of “Stargate: SG-1”. A primetime version of “Today” can solve your perennial problem on Saturday night. Sprinkle new installments of “Dateline NBC” throughout the week (on Wednesday and Sunday) and you’ve got yourself a winning line-up.
Or, you could just come up with original ideas on your own instead of stealing cable offerings and remakes of B-level series (“Bionic Woman”, “Knight Rider”, “American Gladiators”). Just some free advice.
I would prefer they take old Green Acres scripts and have them redo the show with new actors.

IIRC, Monk did very well on ABC in repeats during its first and second season. I believe it was paired with Monday Night Football as well as aired Thursday at 8pm and Saturday at 10pm at one point.
at Jay's post. I can't even imagine what the horrific Flash Gordon would do on NBC. They may end up in On the Lot territory with that one.
For Saturdays, I suggest shipping in the ridiculous Sci-Fi Saturday Night Movies. Lead with "Megasnake."
On a more serious note, I wouldn't be too surprised if the Tin Man miniseries shows up in six hourlong installments on NBC. Especially after that recent news that it was the best cable entertainment show in A25-54 in two years after the LIVE+7's.
