This is already 4th or 5th stunt casting on 30 Rock and the season hasn't begun yet. NBC must really be desperate with 30 Rock. The show still will be unfunny with or without the special appearances. NBC will just spend more money than before. Wink

Anthony Edwards imo was the best character of all time on ER. After he left, I went from being a casual viewer who liked the show to a never viewer. Chalk me up as someone who will have to catch this ep just to see him. I could care less over the fact that Noah Wyle is coming back.

The ER news sounds like it will make for a fantastic episode.

Oprah on 30 Rock sounds like just one more reason not to watch that show. I know 30 Rock is getting a late start to the season, but wow, they haven't even finished casting for the second episode?

I know most of you arent fans of the show, but the 17 Emmy Nominations for Best Comedy does show that the show at least has a strong following. And since the beginning, 30 Rock has used guest stars, either playing themselves or other characters and it makes sense, considering that the show takes place in the entertainment industry (unlike Will & Grace, in which all the main characters constantly ran into celebrities for some reason).

Jennifer Aniston, Will Arnett, Leighton Meester, and Blake Lively (the last two from Gossip Girl), are also set to guest star within the first few episodes too. And I dont think you can blame a network for trying to get more viewers to watch the most critically acclaimed comedy of the year.

Though if 30 Rock doesnt improve in the ratings this season (even though it did slightly improve last season), I think NBC should give it the boot, or maybe renew it for 13 eps during a 4th season, just so it could syndication rights. My Name Is Earl should also get axed this season if its ratings continue to tumble.

But great move on ER; I definitely think bringing Anthony Edwards back is a smart move for November Sweeps, but that many old fans will tune in just to see it.

Oprah on 30 Rock. Excellent! Looks like we're in for another great season. I can't wait for it to return!

Leighton and Blake have much better chances of scoring Emmy nominations by guest starring on 30 Rock than they do starring in Gossip Girl. Just saying.
