Medium is an established series or at least it should be. The ratings for it have been sinking since day one. Friday Night Lights has had to lead off the evening so far, and NBC is almost guaranteed to bring it back. The executives love the show. Medium, on the other hand, won't give NBCU any syndication profit and like I said, continues to sink. I think the only way Medium could possibly be saved is if it moves back to Monday this season and ends quite strong after Heroes (and I think that's a long shot).

FNL is getting a 1.8-2.1 vs. Bones and a bunch of mediocre shows on other nets.
It's had to lead off the evening in the weakest time slot of the week. Reruns of I Love Lucy could compete against Bones, George Lopez, and Jericho the way they are performing.
I bet if we swapped the Medium and FNL slots, Medium would come in 2nd 18-49...

How can you be so sure? It has been declining all along, even when it had a good lead in last year.

The concepts of NBC's pilots sound... um... how I can put this gently? CRAP-O-LA. I bet there are fewer cancellations than people are expecting.

Midseason returns for "Identity," "Scrubs" and "Medium"
Don't know if NBC is going to be doing any more multi-camera sitcoms any time soon, but "The Mastersons of Manhattan" and "The I.T. Crowd" sound like fun. (Then again, Moses Port and David Guarascio have no talent. So maybe not.)

Medium's ratings didn't show a serious decline until NBC started jerking it around the schedule, causing viewers to either forget when it was finally airing, or to become so frustrated with NBC that they simply gave up trying to keep up with their incessant juggling acts. Until they moved it,it was one of the highest rated shows on the network. Medium is still a top-quality show and the fact that NBC has consigned it to its current death-slot against Lost and CSI:NY only shows what kind of morons they have running their programming department.
Does anyone remember a movie called "The Barefoot Executive"? That must be how NBC runs their programming department.

Scrubs, I’m with stupid, and Winters as midseason replacements. Unfortunately NBC’s dramas do not look very good, but they seam to have the best comedies. Finally, make Dateline cheaper to produce and send it over to MSNBC. NBC should develop a better and hipper news hour.
