Yeah, what about it? Let this show go. Now I see they're bringing in another "bombshell" to liven things up. Maybe the show will be "saved by the bell," but I hope the bell will toll one last time for the ABC wannabe.

I'd say with the episode order cut to 19, Brian is on his way out. Hopefully producers have enough of a brain to wrap up the storylines but I wouldn't bet on it.

Last nights episode was quite good, as the series continued to introduce new characters and set off in a new plot-line direction (more comedic, less serial melodramatic than the December-January episodes). Miss Thiessen is a top notch casting addition, and her character jumped right into the middle of things as CEO of the gaming-software company. I even liked Barry Watson's new haircut!

This new direction may be what's needed to draw viewers back in sufficient numbers to get What About Brian its third season.

I'd say it needs at least 7.5 million and over a 3.0 among 18-49s for those last episodes if it wants ANY chance at all of returning. But this likelihood of return is around 20%. The ratings are overall terrible. They're not showing significant improvement, they're terrible. If ABC didn't have so many holes it would've been off the schedule months ago.

No, not exceptionally good, just quite good.

However, What About Brian exceeds even that description when Ms. Sarah Lancaster is starring as Marjorie, but sadly she's disappeared from the show again, her character fleeing back to Minnesota.

I would become a town-crier with a sandwich-board for a spin-off show that featured Ms. Lancaster as Marjorie. She is one of ABC's most luminous stars. I hope they have her signed to a development deal. If not, she is Ms. Ostroff's for the taking.

So not as good as Wicked Wicked Games? You said that was EXCEPTIONALLY good. Wink

And who could blame her? I bet all the other characters wish they could flee there with her. Big Grin

You forgot the hand bell.

She'd probably rather be in Minnesota. If the only other option was CW, I mean.

Of course, 'Ms. Ostroff' herself may have to consider Minnesota before very long.

Not yet. All the 'shows-on-the-bubble' articles in the media say this series is still under renewal consideration by ABC.

I think most networks are going to over-order shows and episodes for the upcoming season to have shows/episodes in reserve should the writers strke occur. Based on this, I expect What About Brian will be ordered up as a reserve series for second season (November-December) or third season (Feburary-March) scheduling.

With all of those buzz-worthy pilots, I bet ABC bails on Brian.

Considering that all of the mock drafts (to borrow a phrase from the folks at ESPN, hope they don't have a trademark on it) I've seen from "inside" sources have not had What About Brian on there once, I think it's over. And with clone October Road likely to make the fall schedule (along with the many pilots), I doubt there is room.

My prediction - ABC will renew this show with a limited order of episodes (eight-ten?) that will be used to plug holes or as contingency for the writers strike.

I also think that they will re-tinker (again!) the series and focus it to revolve more around the core four characters.
