I really hope that NBC doesn't cancel this show as it does continue to get better and better. But I agree that they have grossly mishandled it, from poor promotion to scheduling, they have done all they could to sabotage this show, whether intentional or not. But I think the numbers for this season will continue to grow as most of its viewers are just starting to find it again after its move to Wednesday. And while I agree that it would do considerably better in its old slot on Mondays after Heroes, to move it again might simply further alienate the fans who have stuck with it thus far. I think that NBC moving Crossing Jordan to Wednesdays ahead of it could be a boost for both shows, and perhaps this move is aimed more at saving Jordan than anything else. I really hope that this show will be back in the fall and NBC gives it a chance to show that it's still the great show it was when it first aired. And to the person who said that NBC "bought" Patricia Arquette the Emmy, you obviously haven't been watching the show, or noticing the other nominations that she's been getting. Her nominations and Emmy were hard-earned and well-deserved.

Other things I haven't noticed - other awards for the role. Terrible actress, too. That chick who does a dead-on impersonation of her on those hilarious "Mad TV" skits can act rings around that snaggle-toothed idiot. "Every week, always right. Dreams. Medium. Mondays, 10/9 central. Right after 'Las Vegas.' You probably don't even watch the show mwah mwah mwah..."

As I said, you obviously don't watch the show, or wouldn't know quality television if it walked up and slapped you. You obviously don't know good acting when you see it. As far as that other actress, if she is so good, what's she doing on MADtv instead of on a real show. Apparently she doesn't have as much as talent as you think she does. And if you put Patricia Arquette up against any actress on television today, she could act rings around any of them. As far as the awards go, I'll bet that chick on MADtv wishes she could win an Emmy, or get back to back Golden Globe and SAG nominations, or even win a CableAce award, all of which Patricia has done. And as far as calling Patricia a "snaggle-toothed idiot", it takes a small person to criticize someone they don't even know, and who I think is a very beautiful person and knows more about class and integrity than you ever will.

And you apparently don't watch the show if you think it still comes on Mondays at 10 after Las Vegas. Neither of those shows have been on Mondays since last season, so apparently you don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, I think we've discovered the average intellect of a "Tedium" fan.

I hope Medium has a long, long life on NBC, a network desperately in need of something beside Dateline and umpteen versions of Law and Order. Remember the 80s when NBC was the netowrk with quality programs like Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere? NBC needs to find its way back to that level.

In the current TV GUIDE, columnist Michael Ausiello mentions that CBS could pick up "Medium" if NBC were to cancel it. The basics: producer Paramount (a corporate cousin of CBS) will receive over $1 million an episode in syndication. However, syndication usually requires 100 episodes and "Medium" is only on year three, meaning only around 65 episodes have been produced.

I think it is rather unlikely that CBS would pick up another network's leftovers - even if it does have a corporate connection. (In fairness the last NBC series that CBS picked up turned out to be a good move: "JAG".)

CBS has far too few holes to fill come fall and using an NBC cast-off will deprive the net of the possibility to launch a new series.

Medium is already making someone money in repeats on Lifetime.

Anyone else see how they tried touting a new lineup of Crossing Jordan and Medium starting up soon? Nice try but its not going to work considering the fact that CJ was struggling itself. Id say that NBC should be satisfied with the numbers it is pulling against one of the CSI franchising and a struggling but still pretty potent Lost. If I remember correctly Medium was not supposed to be on Wed nights when the plans came down for the fall lineup on NBC. I think it was supposed to be on a different night and time all together. Once Kidnapped flopped they brought it back earlier and put it in its timeslot as an effort to put something stable in that slot and it was working pretty well until Lost came back and switched timeslots.

I see Medium as a show that NBC is gonna jerk around and no matter what they do it is always gonna pull solid yet not spectacular ratings. They've been doing the same thing with a show also not produced in house, Scrubs, for years now and its on a 6th season without ever pulling "good" ratings.

You've made some good points, gleebo, and I think you're right about Medium being able to pull solid ratings no matter what they do to it. At least I hope that's true. And I think that some of the moves that NBC has made in recent weeks, moving the schedule around, yet not moving Medium, shows that they do still have faith in the show, and maybe even in that slot. Also they just started streaming full episodes online. Would they do that if they were going to cancel it? They've also recently revamped the Medium page at NBC.com, so they must have some plans for the show. I think it is safe from cancellation for now because it is one of the most solid, consistent performers on the network. When its numbers fluctuate, it isn't by much, and the ratings are pretty much the same every week. Also, it is consistently one of the top-ranked shows on Tivo's most-recorded list. It moved up 3 places to #11 on the list last week, and it has been in the top 20 all season. I hope NBC takes this into consideration as well when looking at the show's future.
