I'm hoping I'm wrong, but NBC has mishandled yet ANOTHER show, and I'm worried that MEDIUM might get cancelled. Any thoughts?

I'd say Medium is safe. It now faces two very popular shows. To still pull 8 million is good, but obviously there's been noticeable erosion since its launched. A move to Monday in place of the failing Studio 60 would've made the most sense, but NBC hasn't made sense for a while so no surprise there. I'd say of NBC's veterans, Crossing Jordan is the goner and possibly either Law and Order or Criminal Intent, but not both. Las Vegas seems to be quite safe as does SVU and ER. I always thought a Crossing Jordan, Las Vegas, Medium Friday lineup would work well. That would allow for Friday Night Lights to air behind Heroes.

I don't know. L&O was pulling better numbers in the HH's and in the Demo last year and they exiled it to Siberia. Not sure what NBC will do with this.

I don'tknow how safe Las Vegas is over L&O or CI. Las Vegas is really expensive and it's not even beating out Close to Home in the ratings. The Friday shows have gone up over last years time slot occupants but they are alot more money to produce as well. Is second good enough for all that dough when 1 vs 100 gets the same ratings?? It's not like Las Vegas does that well in reruns.

Las Vegas' audience is not home for the most part on Friday. I'm willing to bet Vegas would outdo Medium in its timeslot right now because its more fitting for the DOND lead in and it would skew much differently than CSI and Lost.

Well, as has been said here many times, Medium should be moved to Monday 10 pm. Studio 60, along with just being bad, is completely incompatible with Heroes. Just as Medium is incompatible with Deal or No Deal.

I am cautiously optimistic for a third season. The show is unique, a critical darling and still produces ratings just over the edge of acceptable against tough competition (CSI's Miami and NYC, NFL Football, now Lost).

I agree with everyone else that this show performs best for NBC on Mondays at 10 pm. I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen in a post-sweeps shuffle.

I think Medium is safe for being renewed, and Studio 60 will be canceled. As much as I like Studio 60, it doesn't deserve that timeslot at the expense of Medium. HOPEFULLY, NBC will listen to virtually everybody and move it to Mondays @ 10 next season. It belongs there. It was there for two seasons. It was doing reasonably well against CSI: Miami and out of Las Vegas.

I also think Law & Order, the mothership, and L&O: Criminal Intent will both be renewed. Once again, hopefully NBC will listen to everybody and move it back to Wednesdays @ 10. L&O: CI was doing really well before American Idol premiered.

I agree about Medium and Studio 60. And I imagine L&O will be granted another season, but NBC might be wise if it held it back until midseason.

I think Medium is a show that continues to get better. If NBC was foolish enough to cancel it, I could see it getting a life on another network. The only reason the ratings are down is because they have it in a brutal time slot with a bad lead-in.

They need to keep the Law & Order shows. I can't see any deal where SVU stays and the mothership gets the ax.

I could see Criminal Intent going away - but even then, NBC has quite a few holes.

If I were NBC, I would re-tool my lineup starting in March - so I could make a decision as to the viability of the bubble shows:

Sunday
======
7:00 - Dateline NBC
8:00 - Grease: You're The One That I Want
9:00 - Law & Order: Criminal Intent
10:00 - The Black Donnellys

Monday
======
8:00 - Deal Or No Deal
9:00 - Heroes
10:00 - Medium

Tuesday
=======
8:00 - Dateline NBC
9:00 - Identity
10:00 - Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Wednesday
---------
8:00 - Deal Or No Deal
9:00 - Studio 60
10:00 - Law & Order

Thursday
========
8:00 - My Name Is Earl
8:30 - Scrubs
9:00 - The Office
9:30 - Andy Barker
10:00 - ER

Friday
======
8:00 - 1 vs. 100
9:00 - The Apprentice
10:00 - Crossing Jordan

I like this schedule, but I'd probably swap the Wed Deal with the Fri 1 vs 100. Move Criminal Intent to Friday (I think it didn't do that great on Sunday before.)

Other things possibly would be The Apprentice on Wed (I don't think reality shows would fare well on the Fridays) and cancel Studio 60 (and burn off remaining episodes over the summer.) As of the hour hole, perhaps one more 1 vs 100 on Sunday.

"Las Vegas" is in serious trouble. Kevin Reilly does not like the show, and no one likes Gary Scott Thompson. Throw in a hefty pricetag, and 87 episodes being an appealing package to TNT, and the damage it has done to "Close to Home's" 18-49 audience may not be enough.

"Medium" was probably sabotaged because they don't own it. (Or perhaps the usual ways Glenn Gordon Caron manages to endear himself to network executives.) But I don't really know. One would have thought after all the trouble NBC went to buy Patricia Arquette an Emmy, they would have waited more than one and a half seasons to throw it to the wolves. Now they do badly Mondays at 10:00, Wednesdays at 10:00 and Fridays at 10:00. Way to go.

I agree.

The fact that they don't own it is why I think if they even think of canceling it - it will wind up somewhere else.

I'm sure CBS regrets not picking up Medium when it was first produced (CBS/Paramount owns it). I could see them picking it up and putting it on Fridays at 9/8 between GW and Numbers. It will be interesting to see what happens in March when CJ becomes it's lead-in instead of DOND. I don't think it will be pretty.

I think Medium will end up staying. I mean it's not completely safe but it is not in dangered either. The show is still pretty fresh and can be saved. If NBC was willing to test FNL on Monday at 10pm I think they should at least test Medium in that slot for at least 1 episode.
