Today, Stephen Battaglio listed a few of the shows on each network that may be on the chopping block; I'll post the network and respective shows below and the link to the blog below that:

NBC: L&O: CI, Crossing Jordan, Medium, The Apprentice, Studio 60, 30 Rock

ABC: According to Jim, George Lopez, In Case of Emergency, Knights of Prosperity, What About Biran

CBS: Close to Home, The Class, Jericho

Fox: The War at Home, Standoff

CW: Gilmore Girls (Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham have not signed on for another season yet); Veronica Mars, All of Us, The Game, 7th Heaven (note - Battaglio states that if this stays we'll all "know that the CW's new-show development is lousy.")

TV Death Watch

So what do you all think?

Interesting that Friday Night Lights isn't on the NBC List. To me, they might consider making 12 2-hr Criminal Intent movies and running them on Sundays after football is done. Or they could make fewer of them and add Crossing Jordan movies to the mix.

CBS would be wise to find a way to save The Class. It's really just now finding its voice. Give it the post-2.5 Men slot!

Interesting that One Tree Hill is missing. Also, as much hysteria as we've endured over Supernatural, it's not on the list.

I agree that it has gotten better over the season, but putting it after 2.5 Men is not smart, for the Network or the show.

Yea, you would see numbers jump up for The Class, but it would not do the numbers RULES is currently getting. And that would actually hurt The Class. It doesn't match well with MEN. That's why RULES has actully done well at 9:30. It is very compatible.

If the numbers were NOT as good as RULES, it would be a gonner for sure.

I liked what he said about ABC: "Remember, you can't cancel everything".

I'd say this:
NBC- Crossing Jordan and either Medium or Criminal Intent are goners (my vote is Medium is done). 30 Rock and FNL get saved.

CBS- Jericho has a 50/50 shot if ratings improve. The Class, as funny as it actually is, is done. Close to Home is older skewing which means you're toast in Les Moonves' eyes.

ABC: I think GLo is the only comedy that will come back and maybe Jim or one of the new comedies. Of the new comedies, Knights has a slim advantage and where is Notes From the Underbelley? I thought that one looked like it had a chance. Brian is a goner. Men in Trees goes back to Friday.

Fox: Thank God the War at Home is toast. Til Death will soar after Idol. The Winner looks awful, but may be kept to keep Seth McFarland happy. Standoff dies on Friday like every other Friday Fox show.

CW: I bet the Gilmore Girls get the goods thrown at them and a final season will happen. 7th Heaven- so long. Ditto for VM, All of Us, and probably the Game.

Why would 30 Rock get saved?
NBC could throw just about any other comedy there and get AT LEAST the same numbers.

I think they should also add Medium and mothership (without the 2 new characters please, please) to this mix and air them on Sunday nights. The L&O:CI episode "Wee Hours Of The Morning" featuring both teams was one of the best episodes of the L&O:CI and many viewers refer to that episode as a favorite plus it is one of the highest rated in recent years for CI. I think Medium movies would allow more time for the stronger stories that cross from the domestic front to the office front. I liked the "Digger" episode (with Chris Noth as a profiler) of Crossing Jordan that was a 2 part episode and have liked the CJ episodes that are 2 parts more than most of the one hour episodes.

I am not. Supernatural has been the CW's most consistent 9pm show. The CW would be stupid to get rid of it.

Peace!!

So it does indeed look as if 'Til Death will be saved by FOX.

The Apprentice has already been renewed for an additional cycle. It probably will be its last though.
