The full article is here.

But of note is that Top Design is also going to get a major overhaul and be "madeover" by the Production Company behind Project Runway and Top Chef.

Great news on that!!

If Top Design is getting a major makeover, I might give it a second try. The first season was just horrible. Way to slow and uninteresting.

BTW, in case you missed it, the Top Chef Holiday Special was on last night. A cook-0ff from cooks of all 3 seasons. I'll be watching it from DVR tonight.

I remembered to record it fortunately since it wasn't set to auto given the different title. (I sent you a reminder in the What's On Tonight thread yesterday because you didn't list it -Smiler

I actually forgot it was on that night, but my DVR did capture it automatically, thankfully

I liked Shear Genius ,but I thought Top Design was awful. I'm glad that it's getting a make-over. I will give it another try.

I watched one episode and I couldn't pay attention to it. I don't know if a makeover would save this show.

What are the chances that NBC would TAKE Top Chef away from Bravo and use it First-Run on NBC?

Oh, BTW xwiseguyx, Since the 4th season was filmed in Chicago, did you get to see any of the filming or contestants around town?

I don't know on the first one. I know they aired it a few encores on Sats that didn't do very well, but then again - zero promotion.

I would think with the right promotion, it would do decent ratings.

I never have seen anything, but our local paper reports stuff that's going on and sitings. That's about it. We both plan to do everything we can to try and get tickets to the finale.

Todd Oldham on Top Design had this AWEFUL reading voice. I hope they pull a Top Chef and replace him with somebody more entertaining. Maybe Target's EIsaac Mizrahi or Candace Olson from Devin Design. David Bromsted from Color Splash is handsome and could do the job. Big Grin

As for Shear Genius, cutting hair is pretty boring next to watching paint dry. I'm not exactly sure how they plan to salvage that. Maybe get Kyan from Queer Eye and Jonathan what's his face from Blow Out. Their shows are canceled and I'm sure they need the jobs. Maybe they could be a part of the show. Cool

Wonderful suggestions Ginger. I also wasn't really crazy about the judges panel - particularly Jonathan Adler. His taste is awful. Overall, some of their choices just seemed quite bizarre to me.

Todd just seemed creepy and out of place to me.

Given all the problems, the concept was a good one and with the right changes, this might become equally as addictive as Top Chef.

I love your Top Design suggestions Ginger. Candace would be my first choice to be the new host. The judges are fine. Maybe get the people from Design Star to lend a hand in coming up with better challenges.

I'm with you on including Kyan, but not Jonathan Antin. His show was bad enough! (His products are worse.) Maybe get some other celebrity stylist or one of those people who cuts hair on Top Model. Maybe have the guy who told Felicity of the WB fame to cut her hair really just anybody but Jonathan Antin!
