Hi, does anyone know the fate of Tucker Carlson at MSNBC. He seems to be conspicuously absent from the promotion and pundit hopscotch for the network's primary coverage.
Well, it looks like this question was a couple of months too early: it's just announced that Tucker Calrson is out at MSNBC, to be replaced by David Gregory.
While I've never cared for Tucker, his show is basically the only semblance of conservative thinking on the entire network. Granted, I'm not sure many conservatives would watch MSNBC for him regardless. As for his replacement...I'll pass.
MSNBC is a completely crap news network they are so biased in favour of Obama that they should rename themselves OWN; Obama Worship Network. They need to fire their news-staff and bring new people in, all their people like Scarborough, Mika, Andrea, Dan Abrams try to act neutral but cannot control their Barack lovefest and Hillary bashing and there are others like Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann who make no qualms about bashing Hillary and kissing up to Obama. What a shame!

Oh my! How could one make complaints about MSNBC when for years now FOX News (should really be named Republican News Network) has basically been a podium for Bush. It is the all Republican, all the time news network. Murdoch is a known Republican and he makes that known. The anchors are not allowed to say anything Republican-negative.

Aside from the primetime opinion anchors and really, Hannity is the only one who is a neo-con evened out by Colmes, Fox's anchors are no worse than MSNBC's. Many many liberal organizations are not happy with MSNBC's treatment of Hilary compared to Obama. Also, ever considered how unethical it is for Keith Olbermann to want to slaughter Bush night after night along with most other Republicans and then have him help host a Republican debate or host political coverage in general? Big no no. Fox at least has Hume who does politics 24-7 do most of their political coverage or Chris Wallace, who is very fair. CNN has Wolf Blitzer, who I can't stand, but is pretty fair too.

I will agree with you that it is wrong for MSNBC have Olberman host news/politcal coverage versus him hosting his own show.
As far as FOX goes though, Chris Wallace is so blatantly unfair to Democrats it is ridiculous. Hume is OK. As far Hannity and Colmes goes, Colmes is basically a puppet on that show. Hannity runs the whole show, and they throw the puppet on for a few minutes per hour to make it look better.
I also agree with you that Wolf Blitzer is very unbiased in his coverage. He is quite annoying, but he is fair. I also think Anderson Cooper is good.

Apparently you never saw the interviews where Wallace grilled members of the Bush administration? Just because he didn't play nicey-nice to Clinton, who deserved a grilling over his handling of Al Queda, doesn't mean he's unfair to Democrats. I will agree with you that Hannity is overbearing on his show. More Colmes, who's really a great analyst, would be nice. Also, I think Fox has been very fair to the Democratic candidates this year and their decision to boycott Fox debates was stupid. They're just alienating part of the independent voting block like myself, who now has to choose another candidate after my choice dropped out. I find Anderson Cooper to be too obsessed with ratings and bringing in celebrities but he did do alright post-Katrina. One of the fairest anchors we haven't mentioned is Shep Smith, who does a great job.
Anderson Cooper is too "obsessed" with ratings? I don't think so. If he was, he'd have more garbage on at 10pm to beat Greta, who has dominated the timeslot for over 3 years now. Luckily the ratings are picking up for him thanks to this political season, and now he's regularly coming close to beating (or beating) her.
And really, how many times has he had a "celebrity" on anyways? Not more than a handful. This beats Greta's almost weekly interviews with Natalie Holloway's mother :X

Everyone did Natalie Holloway and nobody did it better than Gretta. Granted that isn't my sort of show, but Anderson is all about the next celebrity this or that. He may take a slight lead here during political season but once that's done, goodbye. This happens every time there's an election. People watch CNN for results and then tune out for what is the most boring political and straight up news coverage around.
MSNBC is my favorite news network. They have had some of the best coverage this primary season. As far as Tucker goes, I did not watch his show too much but as far as right wing nuts go I'd take him over someone like O' Reilly, Hannity or Glen Beck any day. He can go haywire at times but relative to other right wing hosts he is okay.

Sour grapes! I'm sorry Hillary supporters are only saying this because they are losing, where were these comments about media being unfair in December when she was the frontrunner? MSNBC is very fair in their coverage.

Those organization you are referring are Clinton and run and funded. MSNBC has called out Hillary like they have done with other candidates. She deserves every inch of the criticism and then some. She has ran a despicable, divisive and disgusting campaign. If I was not paying attention I would this was a republican campaign. The kind of things Clinton people are saying about Obama's race and the kind of politics they are playing show how low they are willing stoop to win. She does not care about the party she only cares about herself. This general election should be an easy win for the democrats but now the Democrats will manage to find a way to steal defeat from the jaws of victory and it will all be Hillary Clinton's fault. Hillary might as well be McCain's running mate. She has done her best to alienate democrats. Media being harsh on her? I think they are being too soft on her.

Sounds like an Obama supporter. Truth is, David Schuster was off the air for a while because of some things he said about her daughter. Chris Matthews, who is just unbearable, regardless of party, had to apologize to Hillary. Sounds kind of fishy to me. MSNBC does deserve credit for the amount of political coverage they've given. At least they interrupt the 20 hour doc block marathons on the weekend to report political stuff for an hour, where the other two cable news nets at least aired news. As for your "right-wing nut" comment, anyone who's ever watched O'Reilly's show knows he's one of the biggest fence riders on all of cable news. He has good friends on both sides of the isle. I would compare him to a Joe Lieberman or John McCain type, not a Glenn Beck, Hannity, or Rush Limbaugh type. In fact, he often criticizes them and the likes of Ann Coulter too. People on websites have attacked him more than anyone else simply because he's number one on Fox News, a network that actually has real conservative commentators. But honestly, the real reason Fox is number one is their delivery. Its fast paced. Its edgy. Its entertaining. Their anchors look like they enjoy their job. MSNBC's delivery has improved recently but still lags and there are too many hours of documentaries on the air if they really want to get serious about rising up. CNN remains the so-dull-you'd-rather-watch-paint-dry net.
