Yes, the selling of the Cubs was always the plan after the purchase of Tribune.
One of the leading candidates of buying the Cubs is Mark Cuban. They should get a pretty penny for that sell.

Well, they always said that was the plan, but I didn't take it seriously. If anything, the plan should be to keep the TV and Cubs and ditch the printed media stuff. Printed media will continue on a long, slow death spiral and Tribune is not one of the more internet savvy website developments.
