I'll check out Life on Mars because I like cop shows where there's some substance to the characters lives. I'm actually though most intrigued by two new CBS shows: The X Effect and the Mentalist, which sounds riveting in the title alone. I'll probably try CBS's new Monday comedy although if HIMYM is moved and Rules goes to 8:30, I will likely end my comedy viewing on Mondays at 8:30 and just check out OTH at 9. Nothing on NBC sounds good. I'm not big into sci fi but I will check out the new animated comedies on Fox and possibly the Inn. I'm honestly really looking forward to the return of ABC's Wed. block, Eli Stone, and Chuck.
My Own Worst Enemy (NBC) Blue Blood (NBC) The Tower (CBS)--I'm assuming it gets picked up later I might check out Life On Mars (ABC) but I have a feeling it isn't for me.
THE MENTALIST - Right now, I'm seeing this as an attempt by CBS to extend the crime genre with a show that will be compatible enough with its current sked but have enough of a twist to begin the move beyond the family of crimers they have now. I'm not seeing this as some paranormal genre show with crime as a mere backdrop. Could be wrong, though.
NBC's dramas - I watch alot of this net but I'm a little skeptical of their approach the last two years. Who knows, maybe this numbers game they are playing with these sci-fi's will pay off.

Definitely want to mention Inseparable (Fox) as it's the return of Shaun Cassidy to TV (if it gets picked up to series, which it has not yet). His last project Invasion was, for my money, the best freshman show of the last three years. NBC's My Own Worst Enemy (NBC) sounds somewhat similar.
On the comedy side, Zip (NBC) and the Milano/Silverstone comedies on ABC all seem well-cast and could be potential sleepers. And, of course, The Office spinoff.
SHAUN CASSIDY HAS A NEW SHOW?! Whats it about? I hope it gets picked up. Agreed about Invasion. It started off slow, but episode by episode it kept getting better. The final 3 hours were some of best on TV ever.

I like Cassidy for alot of his work this decade including INVASION which was very good.
But I heard from a reliable source that he took alot of heat for the management of INVASION, which many criticized for being slow to get untracked. Once it picked up steam it was terrific. Some of the best TV that season, when it was on its game.
So if he gets a show it will be interesting to see how much control he gets over the entire operation.

Sounds pretty similar to My Own Worst Enemy, involving a guy with multiple personalities. Although it seems a little darker, where I've pictured a Chuck-like tone from MOWE just from the way the show description was written.
Interestingly, Cassidy first had this show in development for CBS in 2003 and it didn't make the cut. It was just revived again a couple months ago.
