Fantastic move for MNTV. This ought to give the whole lineup a boost in the ratings.

Fantastic move. I wonder if they plan on keeping it on Friday. Also, can we start calling them the fifth English network instead of the CW.

Increased viewers? Yes. Enough to make a network, no. WWE won't be liking this coming out of MNTV's horribly rated summer.

Actually, take out Smackdown, and some weeks MNTV would've beat CW last summer.

Count on My Network becoming eveb bigger in the next few years. With this, it will help increase the ratings. Plus they picked up that Flavor Flav show, which everyone who watches his reality show on VH1, will probaly watch.

Sadly the number of people who watch his show is pretty low, averaged 3.6 million last season and dropping even more this season (This season’s ratings are down 8 percent from the second season). That sitcom will bomb.

Wonder if ole Rupert will let MNTV become the station for african american programming now that it looks like the CW is discarding those shows slow but surely.

It may not bomb if its half-way entertaining. I mean come on, the Parkers, Girlfriends, and One on One all lasted at least 5 years. It can't be expensive so about 2 million is probably all it will take to make it profitable, maybe not even that much.

I think SmackDown! will bring its loyal fan base to MyNetworkTV, but it depends if MNT won't put it on Fridays... But I think the show should remain on Fridays.

If MyNet puts it on Wed. or Thur, I see it returning to 5 million at least a week.

Smackdown's success on MNTV will be based on promotion. It will have a built in audience of wrestling fans of about 3 to 4 million people. If it is promoted well, I'd expect it pull at least in the 5 to 6 million range, which would be fantatic for MNTV. The biggest challenge will be to create a lineup of shows that can build off the increased viewership caused by Smackdown.

It has been reported that MyNetworkTV has narrowed down the scheduling choice to Thursday or Friday as replacement for one of the movie nights.

I think it's best bet is Friday. The competition wont be as rough, and I could see Friday nights on MyNetwork out performing The CW, FOX, and maybe even NBC. (It depends if 1 vs. 100 is on Friday nights, which it probaly will be)

Does Smackdown! really have to worry about competition on Thursday? I can't see Smackdown! fans being interested in Grey's Anatomy, CSI, DFtL, or The Office. maybe the first hour would see some overlap with 5th Grader ans Survivor, but even then I think Smackdown! is bringing its own kind of viewer to the TV and wouldn't see much of a drop.
