MediaLife reports this morning that Wife Swap, Supernanny and America's Funniest Home Videos all earned new seasons from ABC. No scripted series renewals were announced.

AFV is going into it's 18th season, a longevity record for The Alphabet.

All 3 deserve it in my mind. They've all remained consistent this year and are great fill in players for ABC when repeat season rolls around.

do you think abc would be better off leading off two nites with swap and nanny vs having them back to back? Was wifeswap originally a 10pm show? If so, how did it do at that hour?

While I have not seen AFHV since Saget held court and have never seen Suppernanny, I'm surprised Wife Swap manages to soldier on. I did get a kick out of it when it first came on but, really, it is EXACTLY the same week to week. Either a Christian goes to a non-Christian home or a neat freak is sent to a pig sty. Totally repetitive. But I guess the rather low production costs help in keeping it on the air with low to modest ratings and that makes total sense. Good non-expensive filler material for ABC.

It did well at 10pm on Wednesdays. ABC has not had a show do that well in that time period since. Although I'm sure Lost will do much higher than 10 million when it returns. I agree that they should be split up. Use one to lead off Tuesday or Wednesday. I think they can handle the Idol death star better than AFV repeats and GLo/AtJ.

One of my brides sent in a video I shot of her wedding- and it made the finals last season. But, she lost the BIG contest. It was the one with the guy putting the garter on the grandma.
